Being realistic is fine....Hey, I put my money where my mouth is every year. I go to watch the games win or lose, that doesn't mean that I expect them to win every game. In fact, I prefer to go to the games I feel they could lose.

The over the top homerism is for the young and idealistic.

Last year you said that Belichick was responsible for their "streaming pile of crap team."

Remind us when you retracted that?

First of all no one is calling for Belichick and Brady to be gone. The concern is that Brady is hurt. He is injured. That is a fact you can't avoid that will hurt our chances. He will play, but he may not be effective enough with the other issues around him. So if the Patriots lose in 2 weeks will you apologize?

Apologize for what? I don't know who they are playing or who will be available and I won't be making my decision on that game until I do. In all likelihood I will pick the Patriots but I think every game from here on out is going to be really tough, just as Baltimore and Seattle were last year. As I have said many many times I have no problem with criticism and concerns I have plenty of them myself, what I take issue with is the same a-holes who quit on them every year in here quitting on then again while acting like those who stand by then are just homers.

Some examples are.

Stcjones who repeatedly called Belichicks "ignorant" and " buffoon," right back at it again ripping them.

Rhodey Patriot who said last season that the Patriots troubles were all Belichicks fault and said that and "Bradys ego" were the real problems with that team. Which then went on to win the Super Bowl. Big problems eh?

Captain Stone who said over and over and over that they should fire Belichick and hire Jim Harbaugh, and that he would trade Belichick and his entire staff for Sean Payton.

There are many many more examples but that's just a small taste of the sh.t the true quitters post and have been posting for years yet somehow they want to claim they are the realists and the people who stay positive and support the most successful team in football are just a bunch of homers.

I can go to literally hundreds of posts that echo the exact same garbage from the self proclaimed "realists" who are on truth Borges styled a-holes who are always negative, always wrong, yet somehow believe they are right about how bad the winningest team in league history actually is.

Critics are fine, quitters suck, the two shouldn't be confused. Borges, Felger, Mazzarotti, Tanguay etc are not realists they are haters and they are the ones the quitters are echoing.

At least they had PatsfanCraig on their side.

We might as well be the number 1 seed cause Denver isn't winning a playoff game. Not Pitt, KC, or Cincinnati

That's how I see it as well, I'm not worried about Denver but K.C., Pittsburgh, and even Cincy will be tough games.

I think Brady will be alright the injuries that concern me most are Hightower and Amendola. I think both are seriously hurt and trying to play through it. I will be surprised if either makes it through the playoffs.

He was responsible for that, the team was terrible in the first 5 games, do you disagree? We can only comment on the body of work we have seen.

The season isn't five games and my question was whether you came back to acknowledge how wrong you were? The MO around this place is that the haters trash them anytime anything goes wrong, them they disappear when they go back to winning consistently, then they cheer them when the win it all but to them if they come up even a little bit short, then go right back to sh.tting all over them at the first sign of trouble. I'm f.cking sick of it and think that the haters should move on to a team that never loses because that's what they expect.

As I have said many times concerns are fine and so is criticism but the hating by the same people has grown old and tiresome and I'm going to rip on it when I see it.

Well, it would be hard to argue with Curran's point here, as many have mentioned.

Either play to win the game by using Brady/Gronk/Amendola, or shelve them and play conservatively. Trying bits and pieces of both failed miserably.

Agree completely. I was wondering why Garrapolo want in of they were going to play for mixed results; shorten the game, practice the run game, amps any more big injuries, and oh yeah, try to win the game. It was incoherent and only helped in a couple of ways. He won't admit it but staying healthy was their goal and they were moderately successful in that regard.

I think Belichick was fine with the two seed because if Denver draws Pitt he either gets Manning in Denver , or Pitt in NE, and I think going to Denver is the easiest route.

My best guess is they get K.C. at home and that will be a really tough match for them. Smith doesn't turn the ball over and their defense is really solid and really good. The Patriots can best them but they will have to play a really good game. In the end I see a pissed off Brady putting up 30 and they get the win

I hope they put 30 on them, our defense holds them to 17-20, and we can sit back and enjoy it.

I agree. I think they'll play KC, although I don't think Cincy is going to roll over, either. In the end, I'm guessing that it's better to face KC, but I'm not set in that belief quite yet.

You get 2 weeks to ***** and moan about how this team is one and done and IF they win the divisional, then they are certainly done in Denver...

The truth hurts, doesn't it Homie?

The only truth you know it's what you read the so called homers writing. No one, and I mean absolutely no one knows less about football and is wrong more often than you are. Literally everything you write is complete garbage. This team couldn't win a high school game if it followed your lead.

I probably did acknowledge that I was wrong and very happy to be wrong. They smashed the Bengals and looked solid for the rest of the season.

This year is a different trend due to injuries. I am watching a team that is going in the wrong direction for the playoffs...that is not business as usual for the Patriots. I see a team that is afraid to throw the ball because the OL cannot stop anybody or even run the ball on a team that is 30th against the run.

Look, I hope that the Patriots figure it out, I think they will be as prepared as they possibly can be for the game next week. I will be at the game rooting for the Patriots. But, my confidence at this very moment in them winning that game? 50/50...i have no idea if they will win or not...Sorry to burst your bubble. This is the NFL, any team can win any game; and the Patriots OL has looked terrible for the last 6 games.

Hyperbole is not just a pond in New Hampshire...(pretty sure there isn't one, but there should be one)

No hyperbole there, captain stone is brain dead.

The part that he was responsible for the team is not what you were wrong about. Its your assessment of the team that missed by a galaxy and a half.

Given your track record, glad to hear that.

Well if your point is can you hope sure they have to win 3 games.
If the point is to be honest about where this team stands the likelihood of post season success after game 16 is the worst it's been in a very very long time for this team.
The offense hadn't looked this bad in many years, much less on the eve of the playoffs. We consistently expect the Patriots to have an edge in the playoffs because they prepare so that they peak in time for the playoffs. They have hit bottom in time for the playoffs this year. Isn't it pretty hypocritical to not be concerned and doubtful of this team?

Again, unless you're a fortune teller, you have no idea what the likelihood is. I know that everytime the Patriots go undefeated, they lose the Super Bowl.

I don't pretend to know how their health and practice over a 2 week period will affect newer players and injured players scheduled to come back.

I remember seeing our quarterback get destroyed and having been left with some 6th round pick and a team mostly made up with street free agents. Was that team more likely to succeed than this one? How about the team that lost so badly to Kansas City they should have been sent to the Arena league.

You have it in your mind that only teams that are healthy and peaking at the end of the year have a chance to win the Super bowl and that is not true, historically.

Check out the injury stats on our 2003 and 2004 teams. All of our Super Bowl teams had factors making them unlikely to succeed. Some crappy teams have won, but with our coaching, QB, defense and gronk, we are not crappy and i think will take maximum advantage of the 2 weeks.

Maybe yours will also.
