We didnt have Lewis last season and we did great. Nor did we expect him to be anything that special going into this season. If Lewis is the difference between our offense being great and being mediocre then something went really wrong.

Miami has won twice since October 25th:

20-19 @ Philadelphia and 15-13 vs. Baltimore.

They got smoked (by 2+ scores) by New England, Buffalo, Dallas, Jets and San Diego. They lost last week (at home) to the combination of Clipboard Jesus and Matt Hasslebeck, both of whom got hurt during the course of the game.

They are 2-5 at home.

They are 27th in Points Scored, 27th in Yards, 22nd in Passing Yards, 27th in Rushing Yards.

They are 23rd in Points Allowed, 27th in Yards Allowed, 24th in Passing Yards, and 30th in Rushing Yards

Miami is terrible. The Patriots aren't losing this game.

No Siliga too?:

It'll be a struggle to put a front 4 out at this rate. We'll almost certainly not be able to field a 46 man roster.

Any Given Sunday... but Go Pats!

The announcers for NE, Socci and Zolak, for Miami, Miko Grimes.

Wouldn't be surprised to see this game flexed to 4:30pm.
I think the sheer logistics of changing the game time would require making the change more than five days before the game. Plus i think they've already "flexed" the games for the final week.

Can I play? I can be used as a meat shield.

Maybe see Collins for a few snaps at DE.

Not ideal but I think there enough guys to get some kind of rotation for the front 4

A good game to see what Grissom and Fleming can do. I quite like the idea of Hicks at LDE and Sheard at RDE though with Brown and Branch inside.

Julian Edelman Verified account ?@Edelman11 Hey @NHLBruins, need a couple more enforcers today? #WinterClassic

I don't know what pisses me off more. The fact that Edelman is well enough to skate for the Bruins yet not traveling to Miami or that BB is seemingly OK with this!

Ya that's probably the combination that will see the most snaps.

Plus i expect wayyy more Pats fans..aka like they are playing in SD

Well this should be a routine win. Hopefully the Patriots get no other injuries and are able to put together a fairly strong effort in all 3 units.

The main thing I want to see is the offensive line have a good showing. I know they will be without Vollmer so this speaks more to the interior having a good showing.

Ninkovich has traveled to Miami this evening to join the team FYI.

I don't normally make predictions, but I see the Pats coming out and laying a beat down on Miami.

Regardless of the possibility of injuries, the Pats have been uncharacteristically mediocre since Thanksgiving, and I don't see BB wanting his team to limp into the playoffs on a generally down note with no positive momentum, and expecting the Pats to suddenly turn it on.

We get a very satisfying win Sunday and then get to get a well-deserved, and much-needed week off before the Pats start their playoff run.

I really hope you're right. The results of the Winter Classic and tonight's Celtics game does not give me confidence, though I know there's no relation among the three games (knocking on wood).

Worst part about having the game tomorrow.

After time off, having to get back to work. But good to have the last couple weeks off .

Philadelphia is/was terrible too...

Putting Hicks at DE will give him flashbacks to his wasted three years in New Orleans. We kinda don't have a choice though unless Ninkovich made the trip.

Richard Matthews (WR) placed on IR by Dolphins.

Also, Dolphins to wear Aqua jerseys and Aqua pants, which means the pats will wear white,

The loss of a guy like Lewis who was a dynamic threat both rushing the ball AND receiving out of the backfield has been huge, and while it may not have gone from "great to mediocre," they certainly went from "great to good." Just to put things into perspective, Lewis was averaging 4.8 solid yards per carry and only had a season long run of 13 yards. No big runs to skew that average, just consistent and significant gains. That's not even bringing up what he did for the passing game.

Our leading rusher right now is Brandon Bolden, who has a total of 176 yards and 0 touchdowns on the season.

If we still had Dion Lewis, we'd clearly be the SB favorites and it wouldn't even be close. He was a tremendous weapon, and it's yet another reason why they have to get James White more looks in the passing game, particularly since he's a worthless rusher.

My point is we had a Super Bowl caliber offense before him and we have one without him. As long as White can fill the Vereen role (Vereen sucked at rushing too) then we are solid.
