NE vs Miami pregame thread

Well then, here you go... the squirrel left behind. I wonder if Dola, Tower, and Chung made the trip - I sure hope so.

The Patriots can win in Miami without those three players, barring special teams meltdowns and turnovers converted to scoring plays (e.g. what transpired vs. Philadelphia).

Miami lost last week, at home, to a team quarterbacked by an injured, 40 year-old Hasslebeck, and later by some guy named Whitehorse who was also injured.

As long as the Patriots defense continues to play well, I doubt Miami's sputtering offense puts up more than 14-17 points.

Looks like we got our answer. Belichick's not taking chances.

He'd rather be fully healthy come playoff time with the #2 seed, than risk further injury to top guys to secure the #1 seed.

Can't say I blame him. If the current team can't beat a down and out Miami, than we're not going to far to begin with.

Pats just need to line up and run, run, run and throw a pass in here and there. Brady shouldn't throw the ball more than 20-25 times this game. Not that I don't think if they wanted to they could pass against them. But in about 8-9 of the lolphins games this year teams that committed to the run ended up having good days on the ground.

Frank Gore had 15 for 85. Ya one of them was for 37 yards but that's the point of sticking to the run game. You are not always gonna hit a huge run. But if you stick to it in 30-35 runs you are going to get at least 5-6 good runs.

Edelman wanted to go but bruins coach ask him to stay back to play in the winter classic replacing BM

We shouldve done the same vs the eagles. Hopefully they learn and brady doesnt change too many plays at the LOS.

Agree to a point. They (Miami) still have players and I assume they will play. The game just got significantly harder in my opinion and not having home field will be the end of this years iteration of the Pats IF they have to go to Denver. Anywhere else I think they are ok. Look what happened to them last time. Did the league not take over? And that was a regular season game. It has ZERO to do with Denvers team. Zero. It has to do with the machinations of the league office and Pey Peys next try at a ring, even on the bench.

Doubt the league wants Peyton and the HGH scandal under more light and scrutiny with a rigged Super Bowl bid.

They've already bent head over heels trying to protect their golden boy.

The only surprise is Chandler being out. Pats still win with Dola hopefully playing. I agree with the run, run, run Jackson down their throats.

Normally, I'd agree with you, but I think they do their half-assed "investigation" and have the results by the Super Bowl. There's no way that they'll make their golden boy deal with this for too long. I'm expecting a formal announcement stating that they did a thorough investigation and didn't find any evidence of wrongdoing.

As far as the NFL allowing that to be some type of distraction, I don't really think anyone cares! I haven't heard much of anything about it whatsoever, outside of this forum and a couple of minor mentions here and there. As a matter of fact, I'm seriously guessing that only about half of the people even know about it, when compared to the number of people that knew about Brady's alleged cheating.

I love this gameplan. Run, run, and run some more. Hopefully, they can have Dola play the first half and score a couple of TDs while he's still in there. If we build a 14-17 point lead, I'd want to see guys like Gronk, Brady, Sheard, and Butler pulled. You could always put them back in if Miami makes it a close game again.

We've got to have tough defense and a strong running game, despite who is playing/not playing.

Pats should be able to put up enough points to win. Gotta remember Bradys biggest pain in Wake is out.

I am watching the first Miami game now and man was Lewis a game changer. Just magic to watch.

The offense has been different without him. No doubting that.
