Harper Knows the system better than Hankerson
Harper is more in the mold of Edelman/Amendola than Hankerson

The move makes perfect sense, IMO, if you look at Harper as the SWR3 and Hankerson as what would have been the OWR3 (Behind LaFell and Martin).
I don't know if knowing the system is enough to Harper be better than Hankerson. I was really underwhelmed by his last game, no separation at all. But you are right, he is more of a slot receiver, so who knows... I think Martin will handle those short routes, trust him more than Harper

Chung is the only one out of that group that I figured was even a possibility to play. This game is the equivalent of a second and 1. You take the deep shot and if it falls incomplete, you run it up the middle on third down (Miami). Good chance to lean on the D and some younger guys on offense. I'd blitz the absolute crap out of Fitzy. Make big plays on D or die trying.

I know it's the Jests but the only thing i care about is being healthy in the playoffs and not rushing recently injured players is the way to achieve that.

This is an important but not a must win game. If we win, great, we clinch the AFC and send the Jests home, if not, we can finish the job next week.

Not sure why people are fraking out galore on socail media over this...2 game lead on the #1 with 2 to go. Health and rest for this team >> and we have 2 tries to get just the 1 W we need

Without DA and Edelman and BOTH our starting S's, plus the Jets surprising good health, if the Jets can't beat the Pats AT HOME, in a game they are desperate for; their chances to win one the rest of this decade don't look good.

Agree i dont understand why we wouldnt let Hankerson run some go routes.
Heres hoping we retain the kid.

Think Steven Jackson gets thrown in the fire tomorrow.
Im going to start him in my fantasy im thinking.

He needs the reps. He hasn't been tackled in a year.

Last time I thought "JHFC we are thin. How can we get this done?" we ended up losing. However, it ended up we didn't lose because we couldn't score against such a formidable defense, we lost much more because of some atrocious ref-ing and an unforced and badly timed turnover.

That 'downgraded to out' list contains important cogs in the Patriots' machine. That's nearly 20% out of the O & D starting lineup -- with each individual a productive part. It again makes me concerned with how we can get it done against a clearly capable opponent in their own house. So this with that same belief of being thin, I should rightfully believe 'we will find a way, we far more often than not do'. Bottom line: this is the BB Patriots. We virtually always find a way to give ourselves a chance to win. If the players don't give away anything/execute well and if the coaches adapt/adjust as they can and are expected to, I still like our chances.

Disappointed most with Jules missing the game. I know it is early for his estimated return and he seems to be coming along very well, however, I had hoped he would get a cursory amount of snaps starting this Sunday in order to start shaking off the rust. Unfortunately unless he takes a step forward in the next 5 days from where he is right now, his first meaningful snaps will not be until the AFC Conference round. Not ideal but Jules/Patriots will manage....

I was thinking they might do that against miami if he can give it a go.

The jets running game has fallen off......they will have to hope the pats can't get to Fitzpatrick ...... The pats can negate the strengths of the jets d with endless dump off to RB as well as screens.....as a unit, jets d doesn't get outside too well

This isn't that bad.

We're fielding essentially the same offense we did in Denver, with which we put up 24 points. James White has been playing better since then too.

Defensively, we should be fine. With Hightower playing, their running game shouldn't be a factor. Butler and Ryan will take down New York's Twin Towers (Marshall and Decker.)

I think we're still in good shape for tomorrow.

Similar to the Denver game in terms of shorthandedness and difficulty of opponent. Add Collins and Hightower for cgung and dmc. It took fluky bs and corrupt one sided refs to lose that one.
