That is your opinion and you are entitled to it. Brady could make me look good as OC for the Pats. Josh calls the plays and prioritizes the progression Brady makes the throws. I do agree the sideline routes are not Chandler's strengths. However it does present a favorable matchup.

If they had a receiving h-back like AH he would also be getting the ball. Chandler is not AH. Different players.

That is your first mistake. Using the gameday thread as evidence of bad playcalling.

Do you remember Charlie Weis?
Again, I personally believe it's Brady that makes Josh look better than what he is. When he was HC in Denver, they were a terrible team and everyone I know from Denver (I'm currently in Vegas so there are a lot of transplants here) hates him.

I think he places Brady in decent position to succeed, no doubt, as he's definitely a pass first O.C. But still, I hate more of the playcalls that he makes than I like, even if they work. So thankfully I'm not the OC of the Pats haha

I would like him to be aggressive more than he is. I hate when the Pats don't try to score.

sign the beast

ps

all those denver ppl hating on mcd are ****ing idiots

Sam Bam too.

Yeah!!! Here's Sam playing some chin music for the Jets. Here's hoping Jackson's tunes will be just as sweet.

Your second mistake was listening to Broncos fans as if they're not complete idiots. Getting rid of Cutler was one of the best things to happen to that franchise in the last decade.

Those red jerseys are why I became a pats fan way back in the day.

You think Goodell mandated the helmet thing because the Pats have the best throwback jerseys??

*tin foil hat*

You know, I wouldn't mind him staying on as the HC when BB retires.

Now Josh can go. He gets faaaaar too cute, and his playcalling has been seriously suspect the past 2 years. Matt seems more in tune with Bill's philosophy.

Calling the playcalling of coordinators suspect is what every team's fan base does, and it's almost always idiocy on the part of the base.

You can count the number of current NFL OCs who are clearly superior to McDaniels on zero fingers.

Yup, every team has the worst OC in the league according to their fanbase.

Josh screwed up in Denver in many ways. He'll admit that. Here his offenses average 29ppg.

Those are understandable points. With that said from Berry to Coury to Perkins to Keenan/Zampeze to Weis to Josh...Even Bob and his O's put up 30+ a game there isn't a Patriots OC that I haven't been critical of now and then....and it means nothing.

With that said I think Josh is a better OC now than when he was here from 05-08

Hey hey hey, my absolute best friend on this planet is a Donkeys fan, and yes I give him sh*t on a daily basis.

I'm going to be honest with you guys-- I never like Josh McDaniels. I feel like Brady being an all-timer makes up for a lot of the shortcomings in the coaching staff.

I mean, throwing deep to Chandler on the sidelines? Not utilizing two or three TE sets (after proving it works with the murderer and Gronk)?

Every game thread this is obvious. Josh throws when he should run and runs when he should throw. Sure you can put some of the mistakes on Tom but at the end of the day, Brady is really good at following orders and those orders are coming from Josh.

Except last year when Brady kept doing this dumb audible at the end of the first halves and throwing picks trying to force it to Gronk. God that play pisses me off.

Are you NEM's son?
The "good Ol Days" of weekly rants castigating the OC, Charlie Weis comes to mind.

Please don't remind me of TFB's brain farts last year.

It's almost as dumb as calling the personnel decisions of the GM suspect.

I think head coach candidates should be as follows
Shula
Mcdermot
Mcdaniels
Jackson
Gase
Sean Payton
If he doesnt get a head coach job he should immediately be hired as a assistant coach
Patricia
Mcdaniels is likely going after this season unless in a awful and shocking statement BB wins the Superbowl and as hes hugging his family says this is it for me.

Honestly I still think Giants are Mcdaniels landing spot great O to play with and scheme around. Great orginization and he can get Flores or keep Spagnulo to run that D.

Considering Chip Kelly basically has his foot out the door in Philly, I say the Eagles try to snatch Josh.

There's a difference between being a HC and an OC. McDaniels as an OC is pretty damn good. Norv Turner and Todd Haley are pretty damn good OCs too. As head coaches, I'm not so sure. It's a different role.

Brady makes everyone look good. Julian Edelman and a lot of other players and coaches, including Josh McDaniel, make Brady better. It's still a team game, even with the GOAT.

Sometimes plays are not necessarily meant to succeed but to freeze the defense on a subsequent play. McD does a lot of this. No NFL offense mixes it up as much. That's how they've been able to average close to 400 yards a game, even with all the injuries. He's done an excellent job under the circumstances. I would argue this has been his best year. Pretty hard to see who would be significantly better than McD.

We shall see.

When Josh inevitably leaves, we'll see what he's able to do without TFB.

Remember, Brady is still winning games with his O-Line basically playing like a Division 3 line, his top receivers gone or dropping crucial passes and almost no running game to speak of.

I still think Brady is Josh's crutch.

Does anyone think Daboll is ready?
I feel like he is never mentioned and kind of scared he would be next man up.
Would like to see an outside force brought in.

I've heard a lot of people saying that the Giants job would be a great one for McDaniels. I'm of the opinion that it would be a terrible choice. Eli's going to turn 35 on January 3rd. Coaching the declining years of a mediocre, and extremely inconsistent, QB is not my idea of how to get good job security.
