Steven Jackson!

Has there been any "he's left Foxboro" or "no deal" reports? I know Rapoport said on Wednesday that nothing was imminent but he was wrong about the workout because Howe and Reiss said it was Thursday, not Wednesday. Also "nothing imminent" could has also have meant he wasn't going to be signed for the game this week.

My guess Iosfea cut Monday and Jackson gets signed.

wonder if we'll see SJax watching the game in Kraft's box? if we do it would be a good indicator.

Should be another interesting week.
One personnel executive familiar with free-agent running back Steven Jackson, who worked out for the Patriots this past Thursday, believes he’d be a perfect fit for them coming down the homestretch as they often like to ride bigger running backs when the weather gets cold and elements can become more of a factor. While there is varied opinion around the NFL about how much Jackson has left, surely one of the appealing aspects to coach Bill Belichick is Jackson's dependability and ball security come the playoffs, where one fumble can end a team’s season. Jackson has just four fumbles in his past six seasons. It wouldn’t have made much sense to sign Jackson after his workout, because he wouldn’t have been ready to play today on a quick turnaround. So, if the Patriots are going to make a move, I’d think it would happen early this week.
Patriots churning their roster more than the norm in 2015

You know, I generally pass right on by signing Aging Veterans. I believe that History is pretty clear that in the vast and overwhelming majority of these situations, the Player in question is fading fast, and all his Accomplishments can't change the Fact that he can no longer compete, much less excel.

Such is the Nature of Sports.

But this is an unusual situation, isn't it?

One would surely be mistaken to imagine that any length of Rest and Recuperation would be enough to fully replenish the Speed & Power of Jackson's earlier Career, but I don't think anyone's suggesting that.

But if Jackson's been keeping up his Conditioning while being spared the debilitating affects of constant and grinding Combat, I would actually be surprised if he didn't enjoy a small athletic Resurgence.

Sign me up.

Bronko Nagurski, baby.

Well, now that we've seen a bit of what Iosefa can do and have escaped without having to IR anybody more, what happens with Jackson?

I like the idea of signing Jackson, but I'm not sure where the roster spot will come from.

I like the dimension Iosefa adds. He can run well enough to save some wear and tear on the other RBs, and Josh should be able to expand the offense utilizing his blocking.

Cut Waddle? He seems like a candidate for next year anyway.

Im calling it.

RB roster for the divisional

Bolden
White
Josefa
SJax

JMD likes his fullbacks in January and Josefa led on a couple of runs. We'll see.

Who they cut? Not sure yet.

that cryptic answer leads me to believe that BB is going to sign jackson. if he wasn't there would be no diplomatic answer to the question.
Hes as good as here.

Hey, don't jinx us here, it's still too early in the week to know that for sure!.....

The reason we've never been able to get Brady a deep threat is because he is his own deep threat.
Did you see the time it took him to down the field??? Brady NEVER has that amount of time in teh pocket...

All we need is four games out of him (If we beat the Jets).

He will be running his heart out for a ring on fresh legs. This signing has a chance to be an upgrade over Blount.

Depth looks better too:

RB pounder: Jackson
backup: Iosefa
Receiving back: White
all-purpose backup/STs: Bolden

Welcome to the team Steven.

Steven Jackson, prepare for your Four Games to Glory! If you can help us beat the Jets! Though you should probably get reps against Miami! So maybe Five Games to Glory!

Eh, worth a shot I suppose. I'd rather just use any old jag back with young legs. SJax has been toast past two years. Perhaps the season off has given him some extra juice. He's a threat (or was) out of the back field right?
