The porter of 2007 is not even close to being the Porter of 2004. Its one of the reasons the Steelers didn't worry about losing him.

GOOD QBs forgot about games that happened 3 years ago, particularly when the Pats lost their starting LT that game and their starting RT was already a sub to begin with.

Still porter is a threat. In Pitt he was the go to sack guy. Therefore most teams gameplanned around him and subsequently shifted a lot of protection over to his side....But in miami that will not be the case. Teams can't worry about porter because Taylor is waiting over on the otherside. What a lot of people do not realize, is that the fins didn't buy him to be a premeir pass rusher. they got him to be the compliment to help free up jason....So this deal basically means that teams now have to pick their poison, becasue they can't double both of these guys. and even if joey lost a step and is struggling with double teams, I VERY much doubt he can be stopped by a single blocker over an entire game.

I would be worried, because Joey and jason together make each other better.

The same way now how roosevelt, vrabel and Bruschi are scarier with Anthony thomas added to the mix...together they help to legitimize each other...

Well last time you could send whatever you wanted at Brady because our WR "threats" were NFL average at best. Now you can still try to pressure him - except our WR threats are way above NFL average. If that's your strategy, fine. And if it works, good for you. I will bet two things, though - 1) the Dolphins will keep more guys in coverage because they'll be scared not to and 2) if they don't, the more athletic WR we now have will burn their ass.

Ugh...I cant STAND these stupid dolphin fans...Im going over to finheaven to teach these people a lesson..wish me luck

Stupid? all i have done is give pointed arguements backed with hard statistics and sound logic....how is that stupid?

Oh wait..you want to go to finheaven fine...I'll be there

look me up BennyVW...with the alice in chains logo.

Great message "bored" that is; what's the average age/IQ overthere, 12? Love the way most of them refer to the Patriots as the "Paties", friggin tools.

All of that smack talk from a fan base that hasn't had a whiff of the Super Bowl in over 20 years, pathetic. And as I expected, at least two references to the undefeated team of 1972; Christ, let it go Doofin fans, talk about living in the past....................

OK..so you are mad that some guys called you patsies and call them tools for doing it...then call us Doofins?..doesn't that make you a tool then?

See, I don't agree with this. I also don't agree that teams were gameplanning for Joey Porter last year. He just hasn't been that good.

The same way now how roosevelt, vrabel and Bruschi are scarier with Anthony thomas added to the mix...together they help to legitimize each other...

Who is Anthony Thomas? I've never heard of him... I think you mean ADALIUS Thomas.

Now, we could sit here and go over why the Pats, last year, had trouble against the Phins, but I'd hear things like "Those are just excuses", so I don't think I should bother.

Something for you to think about. The combination of Shawne Merriman and Shawn Phillips was probably the most devestaing OLB combo last season and the Pats all but shut them down in the play-offs. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Pats use a similar blocking scheme to neutralize Taylor and Porter, though, as I said, Porter of 2007 is not Porter of 2004.

I've got to agree. I don't know of anyone who specifically game plans for Porter. He really isn't that good. Honest. The phins have a good defense and people game plan around Taylor but Porter is a solid pickup but nothing to be feared. I don't know why phin fans are so enamored by Porter. Is it because Ward cried when he left? Ward cries more than my wife does when we watch sad movies. lol

That depends... in 04 he sacked brady three times in a single game...but then only got to him once in the playoffs loss...

Still...QB's tend to remember a game where a single guy sacks him three times....
I forget, how did that three sack game in 2004 affect Tom against the Steelers in the playoffs later that year?

Stupid? all i have done is give pointed arguements backed with hard statistics and sound logic....how is that stupid?
Are you referring to the statistics you gave us last year in another thread that proved Culpepper was a better QB than Brady?

Speed and scoring ability in the form of the most electric offensive playmaker in college ball
The Doofins traded for Calvin Johnson?

A brilliant QB who will lead this team for a decade.
Umm, Trent Green is currently 37, so you must be referring to Lemon as "brilliant?"

Not me..that was some one else you guys are very familiar with but i disgust...aqua4everHopeful or somethign like that...

Sorry, but i didn't say that:rofl:

Try again, i didn't say that..

doesn't matter if they are open, if the QB can't get the ball off. Last time we played, Dom capers and Jason taylor just flat out confused tom. He didn't know what the hell was going on.

It's actually kinda weird. For years Tom's Numbers vs the fins have always been average at best...and definatly below his career averages. It thought that once we switched off the vanilla 4-3 it would change. I guessed that Tom just didn't work well against that scheme. But then, after the switch he had his 2 worst outing EVER vs the dolphins. Honestly the only constant has to be either jason taylor or Zach thomas. (i'm guessing taylor) he really must scare the crap out of Tom because there is no other real big factor...He definatly plays better against us in NE, but he also had his best statistical day ever against us in miami so thats out the door.

Currently when playing the fins his average QB rating is 74.25...thats just over 14 points under his career average of 88.4.

His completion rate dips from 61.9%, down 6.58 points to 55.32%.

His ATT/TD rate does stay near the same (TD every 20.56 throws vs fins, 20.84 career)

But he tends to throw A lot more INT's. 1 every 29.9 throws vs a career average of 1 pick every 39.2 throws....

So to say that the key to winnng is pressuring the QB you are right. Assuming however that WR's will suddenly end a 6 year statistical slump..i would not go that far at all.
Bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla. Nice statistics. The Pats are far better than the Dolphins. I can take one loss against them per season as long as we win the division. Truth be told as long as your offense continues to suck, I could care less if Brady gets sacked 10 times per game. We will still win with a better and more dominate defense.

Not that good? he has more pro-bowls than all the starting NE linebackers COMBINED. (adalius has one for ST's and one as a LB, Bruschi has the other one). and to write him off as old is a stretch figuring he's 5 months older than adalius, 6 months older than colvin, 2.5 years younger than vrabel, and 4.25 years younger than bruschi....

I feel bad for you...considering we have the first offensive backround headcoach in the history of the dolphins you can expect that the offense will become a point of emphasis....

Oh no..i spelled a name wrong...forgive me while i cry my tears...

So if your blocking is so good why couldn't you block jason taylor when he had no help on the other side? and why will you suddenly get him (even though you haven't been able to in YEARS)when he has a legitimate threat opposite him...and what happened the last time jason had an above average rusher opposite from him???? Oh yeah..he led the league in sacks with adawale ogunleye opposite him...almost forgot about that...

The best offensive background Head Coach in the recent history of the NFL was probably Mike Martz...and he was a terrible HC.

I am baffled as to why Dolphins fans think, that with a new HC they will make improvements. The guy have never been a Head Coach before. He will likely be terrible in his first stop on the HC tour.

As far as his great Offensive background, if I had LT, Rivers, Gates and that OL I could average 30+ points a game calling plays.

Did he bring Tomlinson and Gates with him?

Because, for the first time in Tom Brady's tenure here...he has legitimate WR to throw to. That opens up the TE and backs as well.

Just like a great DL makes a Secondary look better, good receivers make a QB and OL look better.

I'd say that the Bills, Pats and Jets will be battling for the cellar this year because it won't be the Dolphins. Most likely the Bills.

F*cking insanely delusional.

Someone should get some mental help to this guys house ASAP.

Sorry, but i didn't say that:rofl:

When you get through laughing on the floor, wipe off the drool, take of those rose-colored doofin glasses, and re-read post 29.

You were quoted twice and both times accurately.

The first time I quoted you it was from post #9, and the second time was from post #24.

You can tell because it says quote=welker83.

The other two quotes were taken from post #6, which was taken from a Doofin finheaven thread.
