Yeah, and he's probably about to jump ship again. Guy used to be a Dolphins fan after all. His loyalty is about as fickle as it gets. He probably would have jumped ship a long time ago if he didn't become some sort of dwarf celebrity.

He bailed out of his Fireman Ed role immediately after the Buttfumble Game, and later claimed he did it not because the Jets Suck, but because he couldn't take the heckling he was getting from other fans. Of course we know he quit because the overwhelming truth is that the Jets Suck. The Buttfumble Game was such a clear expression of the almighty Suckage that is the New Jersey Jets that even Fireman Ed bailed on them. The fact that he later blames his bailout on getting heckled by other fans just shows that Fireman Ed himself sucks and that all Jets fans suck.

He did in fact come back as Fireman Ed for Game 1 of this season. I presume that he did this for the cash, since it's clear he won't do it otherwise and there's no evidence that he's done it since. Boyfriends Revis and Marshall gave him props for showing up for Game 1 but it seems the reality is that Game 1 was yet another bailout by Fireman Ed.

Revis will be a fine corner again in 2015, but he’ll also be earning $16m, so you would certainly hope so. In 2016, he’ll be earning $17m, and the year after $15.3m. Somewhere along that timeline I think the decline in his physical skills is going to mean he no longer justifies that money. If it’s 2017 the Jets timed the contract perfectly, because just $6m of that year is guaranteed. If it’s before that, then the Jets miscalculated and could have a costly mistake on their hands.

There've been some contenders for teams to dislike in the last few months.

Indianapolis have Grigson, Pagano and a bunch of fans who are too stupid to understand the basic facts of physics. Harbaugh for all of his hard guy act has shown himself to be a whiny little third-grader and Rex is a blowhard to rival Donald Trump, whatever team he coaches.

But the Jets are still in a class of classlessness of their own.

Just watched the highlights (or, lowlights, if you're a Jets fan) on NFL.com, two things stood out.
