@jeffphowe: The Patriots cut undrafted rookie WR Chris Harper.

KT or Pryor to the 53?

Sorry, @Ross12

ALL ABOARD THE DOBSON TRAIN

A Thompkins/Harper swap appears to be the most obvious action, but the timing does seem a bit weird to me. Usually those transactions happen at the very end of the week.

I'd have to expect Thompkins, Pryor, or another WR--we're down to Edelman, Amendola, Dobson, and Slater.

I think Pryor is the guy. He has no PS eligibility.

BTW- it's a shame that Pryor has no PS eligibility. The PS is the perfect place for him. Just because he played a few years as a QB. There should be a change in the PS rules designed for those players who make a big position switches.

Pryor makes sense as an inactive WR4.

On the other hand, if KT is promoted, I wouldn't be surprised if he saw a decent amount of snaps.

Yeah, I'd think it's Pryor if not for the report this morning (almost surely from his agent) that a signing wasn't imminent. Of course, things like that can change in a hurry.

Second point, I think you nailed it. I'm not sure why the NFL wants to force PS-ineligible players into unemployment in unique circumstances like this.

A little bit of chatter (from fans) on Twitter about signing Joey Iosefa.

Reiss says he's not hearing of anything imminent (EDIT: about Iosefa), but Harper wasn't released in a vaccum

no surprise

Harper looks like an NFL player to me. Unfortunately for him there are two guys who do the same thing as him but better (mainly because they've been doing it for a while, in Edelman and Amendola.

Hopefully he makes the Practice Squad as he would be a good candidate to take Amendola's roster spot next year.

We could definitely use a guy with Kenbrell's skillset on the roster right now.

Mike Reiss @MikeReiss
Patriots had DT Joe Vellano and LB Dekoda Watson in for visits today. Both players had been with #Patriots in training camp.

Patriots also had WR Evan Spencer (Ohio State), a 6th-round pick of Washington, in for a tryout today. Had reached injury settlement in WSH.

I don't see the need for any PS rules. Should do as you please.
