Donald Thomas cut, any interest?

He had a serviceable half year here, but he hasn't played in two years.

Worth a workout at least.

I'd rather bring Connoly back.

I think he played less than 4 games in the last 2 seasons

I thought it sounded like a great idea until I read the article detailing why they cut him.

Physically just not ready, no thanx.

It would cost the Patriots next to nothing to bring him back. Don't see why not. He tore the same quad 2 years in a row. Those things take a longtime to heal. He played well for the Patriots. Handled his own in pass protect but was a menace in the run game.

No interest for me, quad injuries for linemen are killer.

You do realize Connolly is retired, right?

Should sign him and then have him play running back against the Colts for a game.

IDK, the Colts don't exactly have a great o-line. They aren't in position to cut a guard who could actually do a decent job. If Thomas is getting cut, he is probably done. He tore the same quad twice in subsequent years.

Bring him in for a workout, and see what makes sense after that.

Is his salary guaranteed for the season if he's on a Week 1 roster? I have no idea which vets do and don't get that privilege ...

Came here to say pretty much this.

I liked Thomas when he was here, but I wouldn't be at all interested in relying on him to contribute. Lines rely on continuity, and if there's a surefire way not to have it it's to pencil Donald Thomas in.

No thanks. Glad he got some good money from the cry babies in IND, though.

Probably not much of a rush to sign Thomas right now. He might be better-served getting healthy, getting in proper condition, and then applying for workouts.

The problem is that the Colts gave him a hefty contract. He was costing them as a starter.

Yes. But I'd bet you he is in better shape than Donald Thomas
I'd bet not, dude lost a ton of weight this offseason, which is pretty common among just-retired linemen.
