Meriweather's Unveiling

yeah 35 and 38 are pretty nice #s although i would like him in the 20s

possible cuts:
Mitchell: 24
James: 28
29: Jackson
32: Baker
31: Spann

i dont see Gay leaving..i think Andrews played very well on ST and is versatile so he stays..Hawkins has done well as a backup and okay as a starter but hes cheap and reliable. Wilson is a lock for another year (FA next year)..Hobbs is a lock..so those #s are likely staying

I like 38 for a cornerback, not so much for a safety.

Rodney has made me love 37.

He could go 42 and be like Ronnie Lott (if he played like him that would be pretty sweet ).

All I know is I'm buying whenever he picks a permanent jersey #

Im thinkin a white one

i got a White Maroney last year..$250 Authentic

so now its a blue

expect im stupid for getting the Maroney one..if Asante leaves..hes going for #22 and same if Hobbs somehow vanishes..hes taking 27

Maroney said last year he was hoping to get 22..knew Samuel had it and then wanted 27 after that but found out Hobbs had it so 39 was his next #

i guess u can say Maroney likes the #s 2 and 9

19 was his number in college and since he is going to be twice the player in the pros than he was in college, so it must be 19 x 2 = 38 so 38 is his number.

I think he might stick with 39, since 39 is also Steven Jackson's number and Maroney is a Steve Jackson fan. If he switched to 22 it would suck (because Samuel would be gone), but if Samuel does leave it would be cool to see Maroney in that number.

how do u know hes a SJ fan? i havent heard anything..i know hes from Missouri though

I would like him to wear 20, like Ed Reed, but it's retired. He may have a crappy number until a couple people get cut, but I'm sure he will end up with either something in the 20's or 31.

I think Maroney's going to stay with #39. Meriweather should wear #35, but I think #29 would look best... too bad that random torn ACL guy they signed for no reason already has it.

I know a lot of things, lol! But yea, he's a big Steven Jackson fan, which is why 39 was among the numbers he wanted.

They didn't sign Eddie Jackson for no reason. They signed Eddie Jackson because he's a good special teamer, he has some potential at CB, and Saban liked him, so he probably recommended him to BB. I talked to some fish fans after the signing who agreed he had some potential, so we'll see.

Most likely Pup'd or IR'd?

Im not sure what they plan on doing with him. If he is a good ST'er then why the need for Mel Mitchell?

He is a good special teamer, and once Eddie Jackson is healthy I wouldn't be to sure about Mitchell sticking around.

I'd agree with that. EJackson can definitely contribute if he's healthy and for whatever reason our ST seems to have injury issues every year, so load it up.

idk man..

his # was 22.

he said he wanted 22 then 27

2 + 7 = 9

3+9 = 2 like 22

So #20 and #40 were retired for Babe Parilli and Tim Fox???????

sometimes ..its sad when people dont know the #s of our best players

The only number you really need to know is 12. Argue that one.
So what if 33 is taken, just saying it's a tight number that safeties are allowed to wear. Right now there is a number crush but once the cuts start getting made some better ones will open up. What is the obssession with numbers anyways? They look kind of neat but they don't really do anything. I don't have some weird superstition that if Brady had a better "number" he'd suddenly throw for 5,000 yards or anything. Back in high school if you got a jersey that fit right, that was the one that you'd take. Ok even then there might have been a few geeks that cared about their number but i wasn't one of them. Geezus, relax.
