Patriots 2015 Off-Seaon Free Agency Rumors

I'm not a fan of Harvin but on the positive side of the ledger he would fill multiple roles by replacing Vereen, adding depth at WR both in the slot and outside, and give them an explosive KR.

To hell with all these WRs. I want to see them improve the front lines on both sides of the football. The kid they signed yesterday was a step in the right direction. They need more help in the front seven than just him. The offensive line has holes too. The offensive line needs a major upgrade.

They really have to address that defensive tackle position. Bringing back vince would be nice but he id not the solution.

Apparently Harvin is set to visit the Pats if he doesn't sign with Buffalo.
I read tkday
DOnt think Buff will let him go at least they shouldn't ...especially if pats is next visit

Read that he prefersto play with n elite qb (jets lol) in a high octane offense. Josina Anderson said that he is going to take another visit after the Bills (even thought it is going well)... If he in fact visits with us after the bills. I like our chances to get him in a 1-2 year prove it deal.

There really isn't anything they can do about the OL right now so I would sign Knighton and Wilfork, that would shore up DT, them sign Tramon Williams or Chris Culliver to start addressing CB. If they can go into the draft just looking at CB on the defensive side of the ball then they can pick up the OL help they need in the Draft. The fewer needs they have in April the greater their ability to package picks and move up to get players they target. They could very easily address two interior OL spots and CB early and be in excellent shape come September.

He stayed overnight in Buffalo? There are hotels in Buffalo? Did he have to sleepover at Rex's house?

They can improve the lines of scrimmage in the draft. The Pats need a WR/3rd down back and Harvin fills those roles nicely. They also could use a cornerback. Culliver is available and that Browner guy is too. Then you can use the draft for OL, DT, S, and TE.

That's why you bring in Knighton or Starks as well.
No sense in bringing anyone in unless you are prepared to offer something in the 5 mil per year range.

@DougKyedNESN: Hmmmmm RT @ryanohalloran: #Jaguars have released DT Red Bryant.

We didn't get him because of $ last time.

Welcome to NE.

Did he play well last year? Haven't done any reading on him yet.

Looks like VW has 3 2yr 10m deals on the table. Wonder what you he guaranteed money is and how that impacts Red. In theory Red should be a less.

I hope that ability to play within the system is more important to the Patriots than how little money
the player will accept.

Totally agree. They do not want Harvin. The Moss's and Dillion's were problems mostly because of lack of winning. Harvin is a flat out problem because of ego. No thanks. Pats asking for a visit just to drive up cost during final negotiations with bills. Save cap money to beef up the Lines
