Re: Offical 2007 NFL Draft 2nd Round Discussion

Anyone think we package some picks to get in this round to get Harris?

Im gonna be honest, not trying to be a **** here, but I don't think we like Harris very much. The smokescreen was effective.

Not being a **** at all. Just throwing the question out there cause so many people were upset we traded #28 cause they wanted us to get a LB.

I am definetly one of those upset people, I want a young LB, but I don't see it happening with Harris this year.

Re: Official 2007 Patriots Draft Thread

I think they'll take 91+110 and move into the second round. Then they'd have one first (Meriweather!!!), one second, one fourth, four sixth rounders, and one seventh.

I still think they plan on doing some moving around, and I think they are willing to move any of their remaining picks.
#91 and #110 get you to the middle of round three, toss in #127 and you get near the top, add in the remaining two tradable picks and you can get to #62-61 range. It's not like you're making the offer to dreadful early pick teams who want more picks.

Re: Offical 2007 NFL Draft 2nd Round Discussion

Forget value, I think a lot of people are upset about the trade of #28 because now we have to watch talent go off of the board to teams like SD and indy who are moving up. It is more our psyche's that are hurt than anything.

I recommend prozac for any with a bruised psyche... but don't ever get it bruised enough to say "forget value."

Still think the 28 for a first next year and a fourth is okay - as I said, I think some of these guys are over the barrel enough we shoulda got a little better on the this-year end, but we are still getting toward the middle at least with next year's pick (to go with our #32, of course.)

But dude, you and I and the front office will all survive missing round 2. Hell, we're still working on getting last year's 2nd rounder on the field ... meanwhile, did ya notice we had contributors playing from all through that draft class?

We do top of the draft okay... but excel in the middle and late rounds. The names you know will be gone after the third. Now it's time to see the names you're going to know.

Re: Official 2007 Patriots Draft Thread

Alan Branch fell all the way to the second round....I thought he would fall, but that's actually a little more than even I thought he would fall.
If 'zona wants to go to a 3-4 they have their LDE.

Re: Offical 2007 NFL Draft 2nd Round Discussion

We only have 2 PICKS TODAY?

Re: Offical 2007 NFL Draft 2nd Round Discussion

3 QBs in 1st 11 picks in 2nd rd. Didn't see that coming....

Re: Offical 2007 NFL Draft 2nd Round Discussion

Panthers got Jarrett..good pickup. Keyshawn and Jarrett will work together and help Dwayne improve

Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 1st Round Discussion

....
I'm a little disappointed in the value they got for it too...why a #4 pick? They must have initiated it, it's almost like SF is doing NE a favor instead of vice versa.

During their ESPN interview shortly afterward, Berman asked BB
whether, " ... the Niners just called you up and ... "

Belichick, dressed to the nines and gazing impassively into the camera,
... did a politician's bob and weave
and never came close to either confirming or denying the premise.

So i imagine that mcbee is right ... the Patriots made that call.

ps - BB also said that talks had been in progress while the #24 meter was ticking ... but they found better player value than trade value.

I figured they'd take Jarrett, because he's a lot like Muhsin Muhammad, who they've missed a lot. A big guy without great speed that still makes plays.

Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 3rd Round Discussion

We got a 7th this year and a 3rd next year.

Re: Offical 2007 NFL Draft 2nd Round Discussion

Jarrett, Keyshawn and Colbert - all those Trojans at Carolina. I think I'd take them over all our Gator WRs - not even close!!

i think thats the best fit because Keyshawn is there..they've talked..Keyshawn has studied Jarrett and said he should stay in school to learn to be al ittle more physical..he'll help him tremendously

Re: Offical 2007 NFL Draft 2nd Round Discussion

Steelers take WOODLEY

Re: Offical 2007 NFL Draft 2nd Round Discussion

I am sure BB&SP has something going on....You really think they are just going to sit the 2nd round.....

BB was on NFL network and he said we are going to sit out Rd 2.

Re: Offical 2007 NFL Draft 2nd Round Discussion

Woodley, another de for the steelers. Building that defense right back up.
