The Curse of Mankins. For those who are superstitious...

How do we know that Mankins coming is the curse and not those who left the Patriots after the 2004 season:)?

Never mind the curse of Mankins, let's talk about the curse of this house:0702Menkins_Home.jpg

This house belonged to Logan Mankins.

Before that, it belonged to Richard Seymour.

Let's hope nobody signs a big contract and then moves into that house.

Mankins would've let Bennett take off Bradys head tonight. Thank god he's gone.

Told you guys way back in September!

The Patriots overcame a bad trade. Good for them. Let's not get silly about it. Bennett was probably the MVP of that game for the first three quarters.

I'll leave it at that for all the crazies to pretend it's not true.

it was a great trade, the pats are no longer cursed

Mankins was part of the solution and not the problem.

Yes he was, as trade bait. ;) We all know he was a great player, we were just miffed he sucked in those two SBs. And stop now.. We don't care about the other 213 games. In a world of rainbows and easy decisions he'd still be here. He was a good player for NE.

Coming out of the woodwork now that NE won.

Although the Pats obviously didn't miss Mankins this year (unless people think they would have won the Super Duper Bowl last night with him), to say he cursed this team while he was here is silly. He was a great player who turned into an average player and his value became less than his contract. Belichick used his "better to get rid of him a year too early than a year too late" and it was the right move.

The only impact Mankins had on the Super Bowl last night was how the people who replaced him in the trade or with his cap money, helped the Pats get to and win the Super Bowl. The curse is ridiculous.

Post hoc ergo propter hoc fallacy regarding Mankins

Wish him the best in Tamper :)

Meh. Too bad ole Logan wasn't here to win one.

Now that Mankins is gone, we are repeating our original Dynasty that we had without him. 3 Superbowls in 4 years!

Look at the date of OP.

To further add to the Mankins curse, the draft pick we got for him was used on Trey Flowers. The player with 2.5 sacks in the Super Bowl including the game changing sack that sent the Falcons backwards out of field goal position, and a combined sack after our failed on-side kick attempt.

Haha glad you stick to your guns. The Flowers observation now has me 100% sold on this idea. :)

Patriots won 3 out of 4 SuperBowls (2001, 2003, 2004) but have failed to win a SuperBowl since Logan Mankins was drafted in 2005.

Before Mankins was drafted, the Brady/Belichick led Patriots were a perfect 10-0 in the post-season and had the longest post-season winning streak of all time.... The same season Mankins was drafted, the Brady/Belichick combo lost their first ever playoff game.

Since Mankins was drafted, the Patriots have had arguably better teams(2007) than their SuperBowl years. However they've lost 3 conference championships and 2 SuperBowls. They've been so close to getting that 4th ring. That 4th ring that would cement Brady as the premier QB of all time and would forever end the Brady/Manning debate. That 4th ring that would shut up all the spy-gate haters.

Don't get me wrong. Mankins was/is a great player. But the Pats haven't won a SB since he's been on the team. I call it the Curse of Mankins. Now that he's gone, the Patriots will finally get that elusive 4th ring.

Don't get me wrong, but Logan Mankins was one of my favourites of all Time. He was nasty and played always a sec after the whistle. Talk about others NOT Logan . Thx

It's pretty crazy, but all it leads me to do is feel bad for Logan. The guy deserves to get a ring, and he had to watch all of them happen while he was not on the team.
