So...Alama-Francis.

There were five players I REALLY wanted that were selected within reach of my pick. Argh!!. A-F was merely a blip on the radar.

After EVERY one of my targets were tagged, I had two main back-ups. Both are available. I still can't believe I didn't pick one.

A-F is a rocket ship to the moon for the NFL, IMO. General athlete, new to football. Put on 60 lbs in 2-3 years with room for more. Different teams like him for his maleability (being looked at DE/DT, even TE). Pacific tough. Maybe a bit of a reach, definately a bit of a project. Charles Grant may not return. He has all the tools to be a solid choice for #2; the kind in hindsight maybe shoulda been a first...

the Jets take a flier on the athletically gifted riser from Tenn.

It's a very good pick. If we were allowed, I would have traded up to get him. Instead, I was hoping he'd fall another 14 spots, but didn't really expect him to. Time to figure out plan B.

You're still with plan B? Good going.

I think I'm on plan Q.

What do you all think of Tanrd Jackson for the Eagles?

i think that he'll wind up being a solid player, maybe even a plus player in that "D". Are you thinking of him @ safety?

I was thinking of him in a Safety Role if Sean Considine got off to a low start. Otherwise I thought of him as a Nickel Back for them right now, until Dawkins retires. However, like I said if Considine struggles I see him with his height at 6 feet and quick speed moved to Strong Safety

1.5 hours til the next deadline has passed!

Dolphins may have to consider taking a QB even if they do get Trent Green.

every one of the teams picking in the next ~10 slots could consider taking a QB...let's wait it out and then go with consensus...

if we delay the process it's going to carry into the next deadline & cause a domino affect. I see no harm in discussing it now.

it didn't 'delay the process and cause a domino effect' for the Chiefs pick yesterday--and you should know, as you made the Seahawks pick 45 minutes early after having been delayed and dominoed

Well, I've gotta step out. My vote for Miami would be DE Charles Johnson.

yes but that's only b/c I had already PMed my choice. I'd like to avoid having to do that 2 days in a row. We're only halfway through this thing & we've already seen a few people bail. The objective of this whole thing is to get it as acurate to the real thing as possible. So what does having an open discussion hurt? I'm not trying to screw other teams so I can get my guy. I'm looking at them individually & making the best decision possible.

29 minutes

can you make it?

btw--after you picked, the timing sped up dramatically to the point that I had the NYJ pick in this AM 5 hrs early

be cool man...

im cool

But when we get to 4th round & nobody is posting you'll see why starting the discussions early will come in handy.

this year is light years beyond the last couple of years mock drafts here--even the forum was new last year...

anyways--you want them to select the Stanford QB don't you?
