2007 Interactive NFL Mock Draft Discussion

In the 1st round, ultimately I choose an OT over a WR because the depth at WR in this draft is amazing. I really liked Meachem but I'm just as confident Jason Hill will be a solid pro. I really liked Joe Staley but I wasn't as confident that Doug Free or whoever would anchor the line for years to come. Although Aundrae Allison timed better at the combine and at his pro day, Hill did better than expected for a guy with his frame at the combine. Hill also did every drill at the combine. Allison did not. Hill starred on ST his first year and and also was a solid #3 WR before working his way up to #1. It's still unclear how long Terrell Owens will be with the team and Terry Glenn is getting up there in age. Hill is like a mixture between the two. He has a great body but he's also faster than Owens. With his dedication in college to play ST and be a backup until his time came, Hill will have no problems playing behind Owens and Glenn for now. Romo has his WR for the future.

You got one of my favorites right there. Before NE went out and signed up a bunch of WR's and traded their second for Welker I had NE taking Jason Hill because I really think he'd do well in NE's system. Jason Hill and Chris Davis both have things about them that remind me of Branch. Hill also has a very good nose for the endzone, which NE has missed from their receiving corp.

The WR's I like the most for NE are still:
Meachem
Hill
Gonzo
Craig Davis
Steve Smith
Chris Davis
Aundre Allison
Courtney Taylor
Rhema McNight

More specifically on your selection of Jason Hill for the Cowboys, I think he'd be awsome in their offense. To be honest I think Jason Hill is one of the best WR's in this draft.

Good list. Mine would include Johnny Lee Higgins and Brandon Myles.

I'm all for that -- any slowpokes on board? :horn:

The one thing that may slow things up for me is that I can only post from 1230 to 1730 ET, as work has put the filter back on.

That's fine by me. You're not up until the end of the third, I'll be ready to call it an A+ draft by the time you get to the podium.

Hey I have not been on in a while, due to traveling to LA for the week, but wanted to add a late explanation of my Eagles pick. I liked the BPA for the Eagles pick and I saw it as Meachem. Anthony Spencer is the only other guy I valued at the pick, but made the call to take Meachem. Curtis is better served in the slot and if you add Brown to these two McNabb will be happy. Considine pleased many last year and they believe he can still start for years to come. My friend is a member of philly board that I polled and got about the same response. If we had trading rights I would of traded down for Spencer because as our draft showed he will slip for a while in the 2nd round, due to other needs on many teams.

I believe we're almost an hour away from reaching tampabaypats12's deadline to make his/her selection. The Chiefs took a WR with their 1st selection. With the recent anouncement that Will Shields is retiring, OT becomes a certain need for KC. Not great value at this point, but Ryan Harris is available. Another need position is CB. Best available that I see is Tanard Jackson.

Meanwhile I'm about to leave work, so I will PM my top 2 choices to sebman2112

Seymour those picks you put in for Hill make him look like the drafts first woman.

I sent a PM to the gm of the Chiefs earlier today. We might end up voting on that pick, since we are getting close to the deadline.

if the pick does go to vote the voting period will be one hour. There is only 15 minutes until the deadline.

Were the deadlines speeded up with the start of the second round?

After the deadline passes and the Chiefs owner shows up while we're voting and wants to pick... will that be allowed?

The deadline for his pick has been right on the front page of the mock since we started this thing. It's 6PM tonight, which is three minutes from now.

the deadlines were speeded up from 4 picks per day to 8 picks per day for rounds 2-4, that is how we set it up when this started.

The Chiefs Missed Their Pick, So We Need to Vote On Who Their Selection Should BE. This vote will last from now until 7PM EST.

Please start voting!

ryan harris is my vote

I think that Doug Free is a better choice if they go OT. They also need DT & DE help, esp. @ DT. My quick list would go:

Turk McBride
Charles Johnson
Victor Abiamiri
Paul Solaia
Doug Free

just based on value vs. need

My vote goes for DT Turk McBride.
