i hope Brady will play only a little...

but if he will not play at all i'm more happy...

Edelman loses out on a $31,250 46-man roster bonus and maybe his 500K NLTBE incentive. Browner loses out on a 150K 46-man roster bonus and maybe some playing-time incentives.

Haven't the Pats given players incentives in the past when they were close, especially if they were healthy? Just a guess, but I suspect that Edelman and Browner won't lose out just because the team chose to rest them.

I'm sorry for Edelman, he was 28 yards short of another 1000 yards season, but I'm ok giving him and Gronk extended rest. Rookie QB throwing balls in the middle of the field against this defense, not a good thing. We already lost mayo and ridley in the first game.

Players that were inactive last week that return in week 17:
CB Kyle Arrington (hamstring)
RB LaGarrette Blount (shoulder)
RB James White (healthy scratch)
OL Jordan Devey (healthy scratch)

Players that were on this week's injury report that are on game-day roster:
LS Danny Aiken (finger)
CB Kyle Arrington (hamstring)
RB LeGarrette Blount (shoulder)
QB Tom Brady (ankle)
LB Jamie Collins (hip)
OL Cameron Fleming (ankle)
DE Chandler Jones (hip)
WR Brandon LaFell (shoulder)
DE Rob Ninkovich (heel)
RB Shane Vereen (ankle)
LB Chris White (ankle)
(All were listed as questionable with limited practice Wednesday, Thursday and Friday except for Brady, who had full practices all three days)

Yeah, I bet Brady plays the first Quarter then is holding a clipboard(tablet)

THANK GOD rest them all!

I'm fine with those inactives especially Gronk. FINALLY we will enter the playoffs again with a healthy Gronk.

Hopefully the OL does okay today. They will have their hands full with that defense plus not having two of our better lineman.

Hopefully, Brady doesn't get killed behind this line haha.

I expect Jimmy to start.

Let's stay healthy

They likely lose out on nothing since the team decided to keep them from achieving those benchmarks.
I gotta think that the team pays those out regardless.

Smart move, albeit surprising for Belichick.

He learned from 2009 the hazard to playing key players in meaningless games. I just wish Revis and Brady were inactive. Hopefully they only see 2 or 3 series.

I will be interesting if Fleming gets the start at guard.

I'd prefer if Brady stays home.

Just playing devil's advocate, what happens if JG gets hurt? Are the Pats forced to play Brady? I would guess Edelman is the emergency QB. Anyone have any idea who is the Pats "catastrophe" QB?

If Brady doesn't start does his win streak against Buffalo stay intact?

With The Squirrel inactive, my bet is on Wilfork. He claims to be THE super athlete.

don't play brady past half please

I'm a little surprised C Jones is not on the inactive list, but like someone said theres only room for so many.

If Brady comes out and the offense scored 7-10 points quick, then I would be unsurprised to see the Pats take him out. If they sputter, I expect to see the starters out there longer.

We don't want to have another rough offensive outing before waiting two weeks for the next game. A little momentum would be ideal.

Under the old CBA teams have given the player the bonus when the player was close. Have not heard of it happening under the new CBA with its cash spending restrictions. What is unknown- if the pats give Edelman his 500k incentive does it make LTBE for 2015?
