Patriots interested in Vincent Jackson

Yes. I lied. This is pretty sad, even by your standards. Such as they are.

The irony that you're talking about standards after you lied ("mispoke") is noted.

Tell me why Vjax is needed? How many good guys do you need, is he really what people say he is? After the last few weeks I don't think there is any proof that NE needs this guy. Most 3rd or 4th receivers are cannon fodder and blockers anyway.

How many good WRs do you need? As many as you can find.

What group would concern a defense more?

Gronk-Edelman-LaFell-Amendola

or

Gronk-Edelman-Jackson-LaFell

Yep Pats couldn't use an outside WR that has averaged 17 yards per catch in his career. Yep couldn't use that at all.

Yep offense has no use for a guy that makes plays like this

Read the thread.

I have, all you keep doing is typing his catches. That's how many times he was targeted, he is 17 for 17 for 168 yards and 3 TDs as the backup TE, are you completely blind to this? Did you think he would have higher numbers than this as the #2 TE this far into the season while arriving here a week before the season even started?

You're kidding, right?

Edit: Nevermind, I just saw your earlier posts. You're not kidding.

The only other consideration is the cost, and of course that could be prohibitive. The cost would be measured both in what we must give up, as well as the cap space taken up, which will otherwise theoretically go toward extending a player we may otherwise lose.

You're on another planet

I don't think this offense can be much better passing the ball, these last 4 games they have been nearly perfect. When they're rolling like this, where is there even room in the game plan for VJAX to get targets? TB's attempts for the last 4 games are 35, 37, 37, and 35. VJAX has never played with TB before and he has to learn this offense, I don't think it's a good idea for him to steal snaps away from other receivers in practice to learn this offense ... he's not a high priority, I would say it's not worth it.

The guy who posted that shouldn't be talking about anyone else being on another planet.

Yup, it has looked fantastic with what we have. I'm sorry, I don't spend seasons drooling over what other team's have and cry about how they aren't here while TB is putting MVP type numbers up with the people who are actually part of the team.

OK so we have another thread ruined by a poster who picks out one minor sentence in a large post and derails the thread so that its a childish, insulting argument about who is delusional, crazy, a liar, stupid, or whatever the insult du jour is.
So much for a meaningful discussion thread.

What has always hurt this team in the playoffs is once an opposing defense faces the Patriots, they...
  • Dare the Patriots to run
  • Pressure Brady up the middle
  • Do not worry about Gronk because he has not played
  • Flood the middle of the field because the Pats lack a deep threat
  • As of right now their offense and defense is not as good as Denver's
Procuring a talent like VJax loosens up the middle of the field and provides TB with an elite pass catching threat that can replace Gronk and can stretch the field.

I don't know what Tampa wants in return but exploring what it would take for VJax to come here is worth the time and effort.

I agree.

Folks out there just think but hell lets do what other dumb teams do, forfeit the future for a few games that want really wont change a dam thing right LOL

Just wondering that if Vjax is like Moss how many SB's did they win with Moss? Yeh that deep threat worked out great . But three SB's without a big time deep threat. I dont buy into having to go get vjax. What will folks say when we cant resign Revis because of this deal, if it happens.

You have to understand, Deus has ruled the trade /terrible/ , and that's the hill he's gonna die on. When has he ever admitted being wrong about anything? So Tim Wright can't actually be a useful piece, he's garbage, despite having turned in an historically good rookie season.

  • Ha Ha
Reactions: KA-
Well if we could ditch Amendola in the same trade, then the question would be, is the incremental improvement worth the 3.5m of cap space and a mid-round pick. Considering the success rate of our 3rd round picks, I'd say Amendola + 3rd for VJAX would be worth the price of admission. Even if we only keep VJAX for a year.

It is a simple question. How much better would the team be with Jackson as one our 3 WR's instead of Amendola. What is the incremental advantage? And is the incremental value worth the $5M?

If you get him cheap, get him to restructure then maybe. Sounds like shoring up the o line is important, maybe a good run defender?

No... tell us more about the perfection, and how they'd just have no use for another good receiver, especially one who's trademark is threatening middle-deep.

So you opposed the Ayers trade, then, right? You oppose all midseason trades, right?

Actually, I've noted that there's still time to salvage the trade, which completely undercuts your point. I've also noted that the new players (including LaFell and Wright) were going to need time to get fully up to speed.

So, in other words, you're getting it all wrong.

Again.
