I disagree strongly. I think Belichick cares deeply about his credibility with everyone. I also think he doesn't care what the media THINKS about him personally. He gave up hoping to be treated fairly by the media when he was in Cleveland 20 years ago. There's a huge difference between that and what what you're claiming.
Fair enough, we can agree to disagree.

I think most issues with her is just her "Well my sources are allowed to be wrong sometimes" stuff instead of just accepting she ran with a bad lead.

I don't have any ill will towards her, as some seem to, noone is perfect, it just sounds like a Peyton Manning excuse instead of stepping up and biting the bullet, that's all.

She's definitely one of the best reporters around the team right now and people shouldn't forget that just because she stood by what she thought was correct on this issue/non-issue.
I agree. I think she's typically pretty damn good. The "well sometimes sources are wrong" tweet just struck me as flippant, like oh well, I just besmirched this guy, let's all just carry on. Meanwhile, Dobson looks like crap, apparently undeservedly.

Totally disagree she lost credibility. To lose credibility one has to have it in the first place.

I don't know, I'm not saying she is Adam Schefter or Jay Glazer credible but she seemed to have the scoop on what OL they were going with Monday about 9-10 hours before the game. Now one could question if she just took a guess based on a few things and got lucky.

It is certainly fair to suggest she has been correct in the past, but at what price? Perhaps I overstated things, but I think that incidents such as this one separate her from the top reporters.

Her credibility has been fine. As for top reporters, Reiss, Curran, Bedard, Schefter, etc.... they all get reports wrong. It's a hazard of the profession, made worse when you're dealing a secretive team that makes you have to go through unusual channels to get information.

I'm not a big fan of her work in general, but let's settle down on the credibility stuff over one story.

When it comes to vetting sources, in Reiss I trust.

When it comes to what the problem is, he3's got a screw in his foot and he's a receiver. Feet are tricky and receivers that can't cut sharply are worthless.

I can't recall Reiss making a claim that he shouldn't have. People get mad because he waits, plus he also has the best sources for sure. you can't tell me the powers that be don't appreciate how he can resist trying to "break" unconfirmed stories and i'm sure the organization uses him to leak information too.

It's the old school trusted source reporter like will McDonough as opposed to thew modern tabloid "break the story, then check the facts later" one.

Neither can I, although I may have forgotten. Certainly not in as spectacular fashion as to motivate a press release from Belichick. Every reporter wants to be first and also be right. But the best don't sacrifice truth to be first.

SMY knows she can report on weak leads because there is absolutely zero punishment for reporting false information. Will some of us on here think less of her for it? Yes. Will most of us forget about it in a few months? Probably. Will most of us have forgotten about it in a year or more? Absolutely.

..So what happened to KT? No story no controversy? Nothing? Is he alive?

Not knocking SMY in particular...

If it was true though, what would we expect BB to say? In any event hopefully they've resolved whatever problem has been keeping Dobson out and him and his partner in crime are back to work Sunday night.

The question I have for SMY is, did she have more than one source for this story? Simple question and the answer would not compromise any source(s).

Where there is smoke there is usually fire. I am not sure what football related thing could keep Dobson off the active roster considering how poorly any WR not named Edelman has been playing.

Get out your aluminum foil beanie.

Seriously!

Believe what you want with regard to Josh and Bill. DI has told you the truth, BASED ON THE EVIDENCE BEFORE US.

Dobson has not shown enough in games or practice to be ahead of Amendola in the depth chart. And it seems that he is about even with Thompkins.

I agree than one of Dobson or Thompkisn or even Tyms should be active. But Belichick has removed the mystery. As of the start of the KC game, Belichick and Josh have Amendola higher on the depth chart than Dobson. There is a slight possibility that they believe that Amendola is currently behind Dobson, but is expected to better very soon.

We will see Sunday night what Belichick and Josh now feel. The OPEN question is who will be inactive. I expect that one WR will be inactive.

So is Amendola immune to the "football reasons" inactive because he is Josh's guy?

3 rec in 4 games for 16 yards and I think 2 of them he got open because of a pick.
I'm trying to come up with a way to blame McDaniels for the defense too. Revis played for the Bucs, McDaniels coached the Broncos. Both start with a B...McDaniels must be behind making Revis play zone.

Give me a healthy Dobson, Edelgod, and Gronky-Kong and we will score points.
