I wouldn't imagine that getting another outside WR to try and understand our playbook would be too easy. If so, there are plenty of options available for the right price. Whether or not BB wants to pay that price is anyone's guess, but I am doubtful.
Remember that Austin Collie had a lot of experience in a lot of what we did, aside from the specific verbiage/sets etc, and even he had to come early and stay late every single day in an attempt to pick it up. Would the new guy have that kind of work ethic, intelligence, and past experience to be where Collie was as an in-season pickup?
As you said--it also doesn't solve the inability to put the ball in the hands of the WRs anyway. One would think that a guy like Thompkins, Dobson, or even Amendola would be able to have some plays designed for them on occasion. At least they know what the hell is going on in our offense, or at least one would hope.
