Thompkins

Keenan McCardell was a 12th round pick. Not technically a UDFA, but would have been a couple years later. Dwight Clark was a 10th rounder. Those two, Rod Smith, and Troy Brown were probably the best post-7th guys (and, like Welker and Wayne Chrebet, Brown was a better slot receiver than outside receiver).

The hypersensitive Tebow Fan like reaction you and some others have to any statement about Amendola is absurd. Are you going to put up billboards if Edelman starts at slot over him?

Amendola (and a lot of other players) are putting in extra effort. This is 100% positive, nothing negative about it. I'm sure he wants to get off to a good start, but again that's positive.

"Amendola was the first player on the practice field yesterday, and the second play out there today." That's great, 100% positive.

He is feeling the pressure; he knows that he is not a lock for this roster.

Totally invented negative from your imagination. continuing on your juvenile vendetta.

People do underestimate (including me) Thompkins talent level. If he did join the 200+ club, and improved his speed he could compare favorably with this year’s #1 WR Sammy Watkins.

Sammy Watkins
Height: 6006
Weight: 211
40 Yard Dash: 4.39
20 Yard Dash: 2.52
10 Yard Dash: 1.54
225 Lb. Bench Reps: 16
Vertical Jump: 34
Broad Jump: 10'06"
20 Yard Shuttle: 4.34
3-Cone Drill: 6.95

Kenbrell Thompkins
Height: 6005
Weight: 193
40 Yard Dash: 4.46
20 Yard Dash: 2.55
10 Yard Dash: 1.56
225 Lb. Bench Reps: 08
Vertical Jump: 33 1/2
Broad Jump: 10'01"
20 Yard Shuttle: 4.21
3-Cone Drill: 6.88

The question is can Thompkins play like Watkins who is smooth in his routes and has very good hands. If what is happening in camp is a sign of things to come he could be a real steal, but I have to be honest I cannot remember many outside (non-slot) WRs who entered the NFL as UDFA and became stars. If I am overlooking some let me know, I did not do any research.

With all due respect, this post is just awful. When talking about players you always seem to post this some what irrelevant crap, like above.

Comparing Watkins to KT based on combine stuff, is f'n nuts. Do you even watch college football?

I never said it was a negative, I said he has been on the field first and second because he knows he is not a lock. You just make **** up based on defensive insecure emotions and think it is reality and it is not.

I was speaking to the level of physical talent, I clearly said the question is whether Thompkins can develop into the type of receiver Watkins is, who is smooth in his routes and has great hands. Context is important to take into account.

Doing something only because you are scared, then saying he's not a lock are two negative things.

Everybody here reads that, so if you can't see you turned a positive to a negative, you might be possessed and unable to control what you post when it involves a certain player.

I never said he was scared. I said he is working hard because he is not a lock. I do not see it as a positive or a negative. I was just pointing it out because Reiss highlighted it in his notes today.

Twenty lbs. is a significant physical difference.

This offseason it was reported that Thompkins is now north of 200lbs.

What are his measurables now then? We only know them from when he was 190.

Don't know his exact measurables at 200 lbs. However coaches noticed he is definitely quicker and a better overall athlete than last year. He was shooting for sub 4.4 40 and more lower body explosion/flexibility. He feels faster than he did entering the league.

If Amendola is cut he is coming after Brady 6. He is going to BULLY BEATDOWN AND HAVE YOU STOP INSULTING HIS TALENT. He I'll tell Jason Miller I was a fan favorite. I started the season with the patriots and put up a historical gutsy 100 yard performance with a pulled groin. It was a close game so I played instead of coming out. I made the injury worse and it robbed me of my elite speed the rest of the season. Most fans understood except this jackal known as Brady6! It wasn't enough that I was hurting with a pulled groin. This guy kicked me in the groin with cheap shot after cheap shot! He said the injury was healed and was just an excuse because I always lacked physical talent. He insulted my injury history. He insulted my production with the rams. He made fun of my ypc. If that wasn't enough he posted and posted and tried to turn sports writers against me. He then attacked my combine performance. He insulted my 40 time and vertical. He pointed out DTs that jumped higher. This coward led a crusade to give my job to some other WR. He even tried to turn my hard work into something negative and insulted me for kissing up to the coach. He even travels to schools turning young impressionable fans against me. Send your baddest guy to pay this bully a visit!

Gotcha. Sorry for being a rude. Tho, the Watkins KT comparison is awful. Let's just hope for a Jabar Gaffney type comparison with KT.

No, B6. He is "hard working" because he's ALWAYS been hard working. That's how UDFA's get those million dollar contracts.

By insinuating that he's only working hard because he views himself not a "lock" is totally being disingenuous. We get it. You don't like DA. Fine. Don't feel the need to let us know with every post regardless of the topic. Even the very slow amongst us can remember.

BTW- DA looked very good out there today. ;)

Agreed. He's always been both talented, tough, and hard working.

His only real knock has been that he's injury prone, which is quite unfortunate and has limited him the past couple/few years on some level. He'll need to remain relatively healthy this year to avoid wearing that label, and we all know that he's foaming at the mouth to do so.

Gaffney has nowhere near raw talent of Kenbrell. Nor was he a freakishly hard worker like KT. Who trained like top notch tae kwan do performers and gymnasts for flexibility such as Pilate/yoga resistance stretches and exercises using TRX among other stuff. Running up to 100 routes and footwork gauntlets a day. His cousin Antonio Brown was the modern Jerry Rice and Kenbrell topped his cousins work ethic to catch up to him on the field with Antonio's production. Training/practicing 8 hours every day. I don't know for sure yet but I bet Kenbrell could match any of Watkins combine #s and run the sub 4.4 40. He ran a 4.40 flat on a particular run before training for his improvements. Right now if Kenbrell were tested in training camp I would put his measurables up against any significant WR in this draft. Raw explosion he was working to be comparable to Paul Richardson. Kenbrell before grueling training......

40- 4.46( ran consistent low 4.4's in workouts for his transfer to division one
Vertical 34
Broad 10'1"
3Cone 6.88

Those are very respectable but he could roast those #'s now. not to mention his endurance has to be through the roof. He should own the last quarter of games. I will bet he far exceeds Gaffney#'s production.

What ever happened to the Danny Amendola mega thread that was supposed to contain all the debates regarding Amendola/his contract/ his groin/his hanging up on that one guy/ his quick cuts/ his relationship to Edelman/ his needing to lose 10 lbs of fat and gain 15 lbs of muscle/ and his connection to the Chernobyl disaster? I didn't follow it, but I do recall it existing for the aforementioned purpose.
