Not who but which position. Your feel for what will be left
when PATS pick may lead you to your guess as well as other
factors.

A post on why you made your guess would be of interest.

Three of the big four QB's will be off the board and some team will pay a king's ransom to move back in at 29 to draft the last one. Pats end up with additional picks on day 2.

I'm going with Linebacker. I have a hunch Ryan Shazier will be there at 29.
This kid is fast and athletic. (42 inch leap .. wow) In sub packages, which PATS
are playing a lot he'll be a gem. With so many teams picking WRs and Oline my
guess is he'll be there at 29.

DT - the pats are in love with Dominique easeley. There was similar buzz that was seen with the pats and chandler jones a few years ago....

It strongly depends on who is there. But I'm going to go ahead and guess that they trade the pick to move back.

Im going with Saftey

Im going with Saftey
If Pryor is there, I don't see how they can't go that direction. It's not everyday you see a safety who is solid in coverage and can lower the boom by smartly using his shoulder pad and not his helmet. But, then again, I thought the same about Elam last year.

QB.
Brady is 37 this year. His Completion % and QB rating havbe fallen in each of the last three seasons. And in the whole history of the NFL there have only been four QBs that started 10 or more games for a team at age 39 or older. Belichick knows these things. The time to draft Brady's replacement is now.

I didn't realize trade out was an optionuntil i had already voted. In order i think it would be:

Trade out

DL

TE

*My choice would still be ASJ at #29 but this is how i think they will approach it.

I'm hoping that the draft strength, combined with the depth of second tier QBs (there are no first tier QBs in this draft) and the Texans not taking a QB at 1.1, results in one of the top QBs

Bridgewater
Bortles
Carr
Manziel

falling far enough that a team will trade to get over the Texans before they pick again in round 2. BB is known as a fair trader who's willing to lose 'points' in order to get deals done. I'm looking for Cleveland, Oakland, TB or J-ville to pass on a QB early and decide to make the jump back into the first round.

I'm hoping Cleveland goes whole hog, and goes WR at #4 and LB at #26. NE could switch #29 for #35 and pick up #106 in the process.

We always draft a TE, why not this year? You know as well as I do that what is expected is not what Bill does. Before you know it, the board will be exploding with the post draft pick blues.

Brady lost between 80-90% of his receptions from the season before so the idea his numbers would improve is pretty much absurd, and i am pretty sure that most believe that he will be better in 2014 than 2013 because he will be much more familiar with his receivers. Brady didn't decline those around him simply were not as good. If he falls off this season you will have an argument, until then i don't see it.

I voted for OL. I feel like this draft is a crapshoot at this point and nobody really has any idea what's going to happen. So the Patriots stand at 29 and pick the best OL on the board.

I voted DT, the question should to which one to make the poll more interesting.

Oline or
Safety or
Trade

In this draft, unless there is a guy available at 29 that Bill absolutely loves, I would be in favor of moving back. There isn't much difference in talent for this draft between the 20th or 50th pick so I would definitely want to move back if we get a good deal and acquire more picks.

I agree, but only if a can land an early second round pick. A lot of good players will be gone by 62.

When I saw the thread title my first thought was DT or DE.

With the Defensive Line as an option, that made my choice/guess easy.

Edit: Oops, I spoke/wrote too quickly. I was thinking the Pats first pick, as opposed to #29 and didn't see the 'trade pick' option. Can I have my vote back?

I voted trade.

With BB being known as a guy who loves to trade down and considering our spot at #29, I think a lot of teams consider that fact as part of their strategies. Browns, Texans and Jaguars seems to no be willing to spend their 1st picks in QB and passing on sure thing players. They may count with this #29 or another team around this position to make a trade, they just don't know who of the others wants to trade, they know Bill wants though.

Bill may be able to bid this pick, but I don't think there will be much reward like last year. I say trade if the offer is really good, otherwise stay pat.
