Demarcus Ware to sign with Denver? [Update: signs 3-yr, $30m deal w/$20m guaranteed]

2x to the SB. 2x narrowly defeated by luck and chocking of key players. Last year was the first time where I knew for the first time in years that this team will get into the play offs but no chance for a SB. Even the good teams only have "chances" and are "contenders". Look at the 49ers. Probably over the last 3 years the best team in the NFL and they got NO ring. Winning the SB isn't easy but the best franchises can give them a chance every year and that's what the Pats have done over the last seasons.

Confused. Pats DID or DID NOT have a chance to win a SB last year, in your opinion?

And by January 2015, the road may be going through Foxboro. Last time I checked, it is impossible to clinch HFA advantage in March. Talib is one hip injury from making them letting DRC go for him a monumentally stupid idea.

What? Wait a minute. Didn't Rex Ryan guarantee two Super Bowls in March? He won, right?

Broncos load up with All-Pros while we hit the bargain bin!

Shaughnessy's a decent player, so I'm not sure what you all are going on about.

We have seen plenty of All Pro Free Agents turn into All Pro Busts with their new team.

Show me an example of any team ever that signed top of the market Free Agents then went on to win the SB. I could be wrong, but I believe none exist.

Oh, please. Do you really think it is a good idea to overpay DeMarcus Ware who will be 32-years-old in August 2014 and is coming off of his worst season with back, quad and elbow injuries?

This is an Oakland Raider/Washington Redskin type move.

DeMarcus Ware is just a few months younger than Vince Wilfork. Gee whiz, who's next? Big Daddy Lipscomb?

With them buying up all the talent, they should be renamed the Denver Heat.

Last year they didn't have a chance. No team in the AFC for me had a realistic chance against either the 49ers or Seahawks in the SB for me. But only because those 2 were probably the best teams in the NFL in a long time. Look at the 2012 Ravens, they weren't even a playoff team in week 12 and somehow ended up with winning it all. It's rare to see one team this good, let alone 2 that's why I'm not that worried about the Broncos.

The best team in the NFL are still the Seahawks. Let them go all in for one season. Their D didn't lose them the SB, it was the offense and guess what they lose Decker and Moreno. They'll become a more balanced team for sure but still not anywhere near as good as the Seahawks.

All the Pats can do this season is the best team possible, without overpaying for question marks in the future. Look at Hernandez, bad deals usually come back to haunt you. I was mad at first when I saw Broncos got Talib, but given the contract, his injurys and probably no way they can keep their best young players, I'm more than happy with the Pats approach, even though sometimes it's really frustrating.

Redskins! Eagles in 2011! ... wait do you mean in March or February the following calendar year?

I think you're right, but this broncos team was very good last year and appears to have improved this year. This is not the redskins who have won free agency in the past only to fall flat on their faces.

You can't compare a team to Seattle. They drafted SO well over the last 4 years that they have still many star players on their rookie contracts. Btw drafting so well is also the reason why Denver can go all out this year. But the Seahawks did it not only for immediate success, but still can keep some of their key players. I don't think the Broncos can do the same next year.

Just imagine Pats'd gone all out last year! The injuries, Hernandez and they'd look like complete fools right now. Broncos are playing a very dangerous game. One injury to Manning and they lost some fine young players for not even the chance to win it all.

Btw: Percy Harvin was a trade, not a FA. Cost them a 1st rounder.

You are correct...my mistake......technically :) .....Spending $$$$$ and a pick is a bigger hurdle though...yet Seattle managed that hurdle.
But...still I am wrong and I'm sure AJ will jump down my throat :)
