I was high on Henderson last year and had him in a lot of mocks before he decided to go back to Miami because of his size and athleticism. I was keen to see how he developed this year as well but in the end I just gave up. He's got the size and the athleticism but the guy just isn't a very good football player. He really hasn't developed and couldn't even start consistently for Miami. You can dream on his upside which is why I can understand a late 4th/5th round pick for him but I wouldn't go higher than that. I think some team is probably going to WAY overdraft him in the 2nd or 3rd and be pretty disappointed.

That's the flip side of the Combine. There are always guys who are impressive physical specimens and who have great athletic potential, but never live up. Some of them will be over-drafted, creating values elsewhere.

I can see Bashaud Breeland (CB, Clemson) making big strides post combine. The guy looks very athletic and is silky smooth - he should impress in the drills. Just rewatched all three games of his on Draft Breakdown and I was seriously impressed. If We draft a Talib replacement, this guy has moved near the top of the list.

I gave him a first round grade. He's the type of guy that early in his career you'd be happy leaving on an island.

I just watched him for the first time and I completely agree, this guys just looks like a #1 CB. If Talib walks I would certainly have to consider him in the 1st round.

I agree. Re-watched film on NFL Draftbreakdown, and he looks uncannily like Talib, especially his long arms and the way he carries himself.

Positives:

- Seems very confident - often seems like he is challenging the QB to throw at him. Nice swagger.
- Excellent make-up speed.
- Good length, especially long arms - makes is very hard for QBs to throw over him.
- Flips his hips well, very smooth in coverage.
- Mirrors well.
- Fairly physical. Seems adept at play press-man coverage.
- Doesn't seem to get flustered when he gets beat.

Concerns:

- Sometimes too aggressive.
- Not sure how strong he is in run support.
- Not sure his ball skills are elite.

But all in all, he looks the most like a "shut down" CB that you would be willing to put on an island of anyone I've seen in this draft, and a lot like Talib. He's very undervalued right now - we'll see how that looks after Tuesday.

You have to get Henderson off the ganja first if you want to make him an nfler. Can it be done? I don't know. I'd rather take a raw guy who doesn't know what to do than a guy who's been getting in his own way.

Just shows what the hype means, I was a tad disappointed by this but for any other prospect, these would be outstanding numbers.

Also from Brandt: Dee Ford measures in at 6' 2 1/8, 252# (up 9# form the Senior Bowl), 32 7/8" arms, 77" wingspan.

Mayock talking about the increased value of interior offensive linemen in the NFL. Says that what Brady and Manning hate most is "flashes of color up the middle", because it disrupts their vision and timing.

Brady saw an awful lot of "flashes of color up the middle" this season. Way too much.

I've always assumed NE wouldn't let Talib become available. Unless he prices himself out of the stratosphere (and I doubt the market will let him do that), it makes too much sense.

But I wouldn't mind at all adding another one of him through the draft. Not my top priority if Talib is re-signed, but it's all about value, and if Breeland slipped he would be a terrific addition. As I've said, for me it's all about identifying talent and then finding outstanding values during the draft.

Talib + Breeland outside + Dennard in the slot + Ryan/Arrington as backup = really good CB group.

Re-signing Talib and drafting Breeland gives you two potential #1 corners on the outside for the next 4-5 years and then when Talib's contract is done, you re-sign Breeland and draft your next #1 CB to keep that run going. Works in theory anyway.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Plus you always have Dennard, who is a legitimate #2 and can play the slot as well. If someone gets hurt, you have the depth to sustain it and not change your scheme.

Again, there are bigger needs (always assuming Talib re-signs), but if you rate Breeland as a legitimate 1st round talent then I'd have to give him consideration in the 2nd round on if he's available. I'd prefer a TE like ASJ/Niklas or an explosive DE/OLB like Marcus Smith, but depending on who's on the board and how highly you have different guys rated, doubling up at CB wouldn't be a bad option at all.

Some gossip from Tony Pauline:

- If Jason Verrett looked a little off his game late last season you’ll have to excuse him. Verrett played through most of the 2013 campaign with a torn labrum in his shoulder, an injury he’ll have surgery to repair sometime during the week of March 17th. I was told the game plan is for Verrett to complete his combine workout then take part in pro-day on March 6th. The next week Verrett is expected to schedule individual workouts for almost a dozen teams before undergoing the procedure to fix his shoulder.
- I’m told Denver Broncos guard Zane Beadles would be content testing the free agency waters if he doesn’t get a deal done with the team. I’m also told the Jacksonville Jaguars and Miami Dolphins head the list of suitors if Beadles hits the free agent market.
- I spoke with former Vanderbilt receiver Chris Boyd and was pleasantly surprised by his demeanor and respectful attitude. Boyd told me he measured in at 6-feet, 4-inches, 206-pounds and hopes to run in the low 4.5’s on Sunday.
- Speaking of running on Sunday, I received a lot of grief after posting earlier this week Martavis Bryant of Clemson will scorch the track, timing in the low 4.3’s during the forty. Earlier today separate sources, unaffiliated with Bryant, confirmed the wide out is a low 4.3s/high 4.2s forty man.
