Kurt Warner : Rams Never Got Closure For Spygate

Status
Not open for further replies.
A grown azz man complaining about "not getting closure?" This isn't a Hallmark film, what a clown show that comment is.

Kurt, you played in a great, great offense and won 1 Super Bowl after stocking groceries....be happy that you did, without injury Trent Green would likely be a Hall of Famer because of that very offense.

The only adults who should whine about closure are those who had close family members die, not idiots who couldn't come through in big games. Ricky Proehl almost got you off the hook, but the the GOAT was young and he DID YOU, Kurt, like he's done so many others since...

Kurt Warner is doing his legacy no favors by belaboring that crap. Eff him and Marshall Fluck.

Anyone who knows the smallest aspect of "spygate" knows that if it helped anything, it was our offense--after all, we were scouting defensive signals to benefit our offense (which averaged many pts less during spygate than after...go figure ).

N.England's offense scored a measly 13 points that day. ONE touchdown and two field goals. They were hardly anything prolific that looked like they knew what the Rams defenders' playcalls were, or what they were even remotely doing. That game was won with a great team process, and by crushing STL defensively. Anyone who argues differently is odd to me, and Warner seems to be getting himself in that category.

Again...he was a good QB and a great human being outside of football, but he's got to give this whining act up. 12-13 years later it's getting to be way too old.

I used to have a VHS tape of that game, i am going to try to find it, send it to him at NFLN, and he can have a good cry and bury it in the backyard with Brenda and Marshall.

There's some Closure for you

This forum is the only place where Spygate lives on.

There is absolutely nothing new here. We've heard this exact same routine from this exact same player before. I really wish people in here didn't feel it necessary to start a whole new thread every time some sore loser who the Patriots beat at one time or another makes another comment.

Clueless Post of the Year.

You must live on a desert island.

Felger must have had multiple orgasms with that interview, as he anticipates and hopes for a Bronco win in the SB so Welker can rub BB's face in it....

I wish McGinest one day ***** slaps both Warner and Faulk.

Here's the real gag for Lou Merloni: the Rams have said they only practiced red zone plays during their walk through that morning.

So how did the Rams do on in the red zone in the Super Bowl?

They scored a TD. They were never stopped in the red zone!

Here's something interesting:

Who was spying on the Patriots?

The NFL saw someone spying on the Patriots before the game.

Wow, so this whole time it was the patriots who were spied on before super bowl 36. Oh the irony.

I wish McGinest one day ***** slaps both Warner and Faulk.

Sometimes I sense that Willie has to control himself around idiots like that. Recently when Suggs was on spewing his bitter anti-Patriots idiocy it looked like McGinest could barely remain seated.

Time again to remind everyone that Warner's job after being cut the first time was stocking shelves at a grocery store. With all due respect to the high school kids who carry out this job across the country, it kind of says a lot about his capabilities outside of playing football.

Warner did say some magnanimous things about the Patriots for winning that game, but doesn't do himself any favors with his "no one knows what was going on" "we never got the answers" "was there something else going on?" line of thinking.

As was noted earlier in the thread, this isn't the first time he's said something like this. If he really wanted answers, he'd find them. He works for the NFLN, I'm sure he could reach out to someone like Greg Aiello. He works with McGinest. He could talk to him.

If he really wanted "closure," he could get it. I think he'd much rather complain about that loss than move past it. The Rams weren't the first heavily favored team to lose a Super Bowl and they weren't the last.

Personally I am happy that it continues to torment him. I have nothing but ill will towards those who continue to bring it up so, yeah, let it torment your soul Warner, you holier than thou piece of crap.

I enjoy it when I see players crying about our team, especially those Rams. They and their fans were the ****iest bunch I've ever seen.

I also enjoy the whining when it comes from the Steelers, one of the dirtiest teams of them all.

It feels better knowing they're still burning.

I'm a big fan of Kurt Warner, but on this issue, he can suck it.

What amazes me to this day, is people don't even understand what spygate is all about and why the Pats got punished, even our own fans. What I don't get is, how hard is it for people to understand, that VIDEO TAPING SIGNALS WAS NOT DEEMED ILLEGAL UNTIL 2007. So what the **** does spygate have to do with 2001 ? The years the Pats won the championships, it was legal to videotape signals. How hard is that for anyone to understand. The Pats cheated for exactly ONE ******* GAME, the first game of the 2007 season.

Once again, why can't any St. Louis Ram (or any supposed football expert) understand that ? It bogles my mind.

Even you got it wrong.

It was not illegal and is STILL not illegal to tape any defensive signals made on the sidelines. What changed in 2007 was WHERE you could tape those signals. That was the only change - WHERE. It was never banned and was NOT illegal to do.

This is why I don't get why anyone gets so upset over any tapes the Patriots had from ANY year including 2007. THEY WERE PERFECTLY LEGAL, EVEN IF TAKEN FROM THE SIDELINES PRIOR TO 2006.

Warner needs to realize:
1) Taping defensive signals was legal in 2001.
2) Taping defensive signals was still legal in 2007 but restricted to certain areas.
3) Taping defensive signals is still legal today... not that it would do you much good with the helmet mics.

Taping "signals" for study has never been illegal and continues to be used to this day to prepare for games. What does Warner think teams are doing with their coaches' tapes? Admiring the plays? They are looking for things that an offense or defense do so they can try and figure it out "pre-snap". Signals could be anything from a QB call to a CB wave. Do these morons think that Manning shouts Omaha because he's a Wild Kingdom fan?

Since when are Felger and Mazz the "National Media Spotlight"?

I've been watching ESPN and NFLN all week long and haven't heard Spygate mentioned once - and then I came into this forum where it gets discussed 24/7/365.

Did you watch the pre-game show before the Pats were in the AFCCG? Did you miss Boomer when following Cowher's tribute interview with BB, Boomer's contribution was to mention Spygate and out of the blue state that Spygate compromises BB's legacy?

Every time the Patriots are in the finals of the playoffs, the issue is brought up again. Saddest of all it's by well paid professional announcers uniformly ignorant of the fact that the rule broken was about camera placement infraction, not filming, and had nothing to do with the SB victories.

if you wish to comment about never seeing or hearing about something in the national media try the topic of Denver's TWO salary cap infractions, a substantive contribution to them having player roster advantages that won SBs. You'll never see this topic discussed.

What Jimmy said.

"After footage from the actual tape was aired on Fox NFL Sunday on September 16, former Dallas Cowboys head coach Jimmy Johnson claimed, "This is exactly how I was told to do it 18 years ago by a Kansas City Chiefs scout. I tried it, but I didn't think it helped us." Johnson also said, "Bill Belichick was wrong because he videotaped signals after a memo was sent out to all of the teams saying not to do it. But what irritates me is hearing some reactions from players and coaches. These players don't know what their coaches are doing. And some of the coaches have selective amnesia because I know for a fact there were various teams doing this. That's why the memo was sent to everybody. That doesn't make [Belichick] right, but a lot of teams are doing this."

While I agree with you, the statements of Roger Goodell after the punishment really did a disservice to anyone hoping to convince people of the truth. He caved into media pressure and painted it as a clear violation of rules for the whole time period. Never mind that no such rules existed, he got to put on his "hanging judge" hat and puff out his chest

"I didn't accept Bill Belichick's explanation (last September) for what happened," said Goodell, "and I still don't to this day."

The Patriots knew they were taping something they should not have been taping - and that there was no misinterpretation of any rules.

"(Walsh) believed, and he stated to us, that it was very clear that he had to be careful that nobody discovered what he was doing," said Goodell. "He was very cautious about when he did it, (and) who was watching ... He believes they were well aware of the fact that this was something that shouldn't be done."

Goodell maintains the Patriots seriously violated the rules and threatened the integrity of the game, but he cannot say for certain whether they gained a competitive advantage from viewing the tapes.

Clueless Post of the Year.

You must live on a desert island.
Oh really? What part of my post is incorrect? Do you have anything intelligent to add, or just random insults?

The only people living on a desert island are the clueless ones who didn't know that this is just the same tired old routine from Warner. He had said this exact same thing several times in the past. Everytime he comes out and says it again, it gets everyone in this forum frothing at the mouth.

Here's a thread from April, 2013, where Warner said the exact same thing:

http://www.patsfans.com/new-england...k-pats-cheated-super-bowl-unless-he-does.html

Here's a thread from April, 2012, where Warner said the exact same thing:

http://www.patsfans.com/new-england...ly-arguing-spygate-w-kurt-warner-twitter.html

Here's a thread from February, 2011, where Warner said the exact same thing:

http://www.patsfans.com/new-england...till-makes-you-question-what-those-tapes.html

Here's a thread from February, 2009, where Warner said the exact same thing:

http://www.patsfans.com/new-england...er-hints-super-bowl-xxxvi-cheating-again.html

So please tell me what was so "NEW" about his interview of 2 days ago? It is literally (almost) an annual occurrence in this forum.

I want to know why everyone always says "we don't know what was on the tapes"

Am I the only one that watched FOX run the tapes for about 20 minutes back in 07.

I showed Matt Walsh taping the cheerleaders more than anything else
