Counterpoint: Shaugnessy is Wrong

Who cares who writers pick to win the game? Is it really that awful that CHB picked the favorite to win the game? I don't get why people get all worked up about these things.

LOL, far from worked up about it. But what else is there to do before the big game but read about it and think about it. Wilbur makes some really good counterpoints against Shaugnessy's 'arguments' about who will win and why. I'm just saying there's always another side to the story.

Feel free to lock yourself up in a cave and ignore the world until the game begins. For the rest of us, this IS a message board forum for discussion after all.

I'm sorry, am I missing something? Isn't "Shaughnessy is wrong" axiomatic?

I have no idea who is going to win on Sunday, but I certainly like the Patriots chances.

Somewhere within the Boston Globe, Shaugnessey was heard screaming at Eric Wilbur, "No YOUR Wrong Colonel Sanders." After a feeble yell and charge, Dan fell short of his intended target.

I dearly want the Pats to win on Sunday, but I'll be able to live with either outcome as long as it is decided by the players on the field and not the Officials.

Eric Wilbur knows less about football than the Globe editorial guy who wrote 500 words this morning why he is going to see a Shakespeare performance instead of watching the AFCCG.....or that lifestyle section writer who foisted the "Playoff fatigue" article last week. There's nothing wrong with any of that, btw, but don't try to pawn yourself off as some kind of expert when football just isn't your "thing".

This is the fallout from the last noteworthy thing Mr. Wilbur tried to write about the New England Patriots:

Is Boston.com Ever Going To Address The Eric Wilbur Embarrassment? ? Boston Sports Media Watch

Here is the previous time this Red Sox psycophant had a thread about him on this website:

Folks - - he's a Globe Red Sox hack and editor Joe Sullivan told him to try to write an op to Shaughnessy's piece. Nothing more, nothing less.

I guess the only solution is for Kraft to buy out the Globe and then clean house in the Sports department.

When I read "Amendola became a decent replacement for Welker" my B.S. detector started going haywire.

Eric Wilbur and Dan Shaughnessy discussing football are like two Eunuchs in a harem.

Seriously, what's the use?

Somebody is WRONG about the future!

If they played this game 10 times, each team would probably win at least 4 of them. Neither writer is righter, not until 6:00 Sunday. But Shaughnessy's piece was at least readable; Wilbur's is dreadful.

I was going to say the same thing, but I don't know what axiomatic means.

Saying Shaugnessy is wrong is never a counterpoint.

Dan Shaughnessy looks like he smells of pee.
