Let's see how the fan base feels after losing another key piece.

Let's see how the fan base feels after losing another key piece.

the offense won't be as bad as it was at the beginning of the year with Amendola, Edelman, THompkins, Dobson, Boyce and Vereen. still im sure TB prefers Gronk over Mulligan.

Honestly? Probably not. But I will be watching and hoping, no matter what happens.

I just still feel a bit shaken and hollow. Some of that is the win but mostly it's the loss of Gronk. Colossal bummer.

First we need Dobson and Thompkins back, but doubt it.

Wilfork, Mayo, Gronk. :bricks:

no...even with gronk, our D will always let us down when we need them most.

...jason cambell looked like drees for gods sake!!

even though we won, i feel like ****. poor gronk.

I think that sums it up for most of us who will watch and root even though we may believe t's over.

You know what? I think they can. Run a spread offense with Edelman/Amendola/KT/Dobson and put Vereen in the backfield an they have a shot. Keep Collie on board for injury purposes. Mulligan and Develin can help with blocking in the run game.

For the love of God though, do something with the defense. Either sign a LEGIT DT or play less zone.

Put Vareen as a WR with a reborn Ridley ...

I said in threads last year Vareen is our best deep threat.

Don't count out the Pats. I still think they have a chance. Every team is flawed in the NFL. Unlike the last two years in the playoffs, I think the Pats have a lot of receivers beyond just one or two without Gronk.

We are gonna win the SB. I know we are.

Odds just got wretchedly thin, but I will never count this team out so long as Bradychick draws breath in an NFL stadium on gameday.

VERY unlikely unless the D can do a Colts-like transformation - after all, they got Manning there and over the hump.

I'm not ready to rule out anything with this team. A Super Bowl win doesn't look probable, but plenty of recent Super Bowl teams have looked like garbage with a month left in the season.

Brady and Belichick. I'll never count them out until they are out.

Gronk is a big loss but anything is possible with Tom Brady

It's always possible when you're in the playoffs and you have a QB like Brady. I guess it's even theoretically possible that we could pull an '06 Colts and go from worst to first in run defense between the regular season and the playoffs.

But no, realistically I don't think we have a real shot without Gronk. Puncher's chance, nothing more.

If there's one thing working in our favor, it's that nobody in the AFC looks especially good right now. Even Denver has the whole "Peyton in the playoffs" thing going against them.

Man, I'll even forget about everyone else - if Gronk and one of Wilfork/Mayo was healthy, we'd be the favorite to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl.

They'll still win the Super Bowl this year.

5-1 without Gronkowski is evidence that they know how to win without him.

If the defense was playing as good as they were early in the year, I'd say yes. However, without Gronk, the offense has a tendency to stall and suck in the red zone. I just can't see us winning without him he has that big of an impact. I'm willing to bet a lot that with a healthy Gronk, we don't lose to the Giants and Ravens the last two postseasons.

Sucks

Still a chance even though the odds are lower after Gronk's injury. I have never seen a team come back again and again like this before which makes me think they will be able to score when they need to and make a stop when the need to.
