McCourty did less than Kuechly and got called [PICTURE]

the mccourty call was a holding. doesn't matter where you're looking, you can't grab somebody and keep them from running their route.

How did he hold when he had his arms out? Your player was holding his arm and drawing him in, the Refs have actually been seeing and calling that at times. Pretty clever offensive play if the Refs are blind or cant comprehend what they`re seeing....Sorry, your Team got away with one there.

you guys are ridiculous. Who in their right mind could think Olsen was doing the holding on that play?

I'm sorry the game ended the way it did.

To the folks here with a bloated sense of entitlement: enjoy your loss, you deserve it.

To the rest of you: good game.

because, like I said, that still image was taken a good 1-2 seconds after the defensive hold occurred.

mccourty grabbed, twisted, mugged olsen, then let go just before the ball sailed over olsen's head.

I don't know how much clearer it could have been.

Goes to show, most folks tend to see what they WANT to see.

Jase, its laughable at your ignorance to FACTS. You guys won ultimately and were in control most of the game. We through 3 chances out the window to get even FG's. you guys won, but to ignore the fact Olsen held a player in a key moment, is truly laughable.

Enjoy your November Super Bowl.

lol @you thinking this was our super bowl. Like your team is that important. You have to prove yourself just like the other 31 teams.

there's that bloated sense of entitlement again.

Keep crying.

I think both calls were very close and controversial and could have gone either way. Unfortunately for us, we didn't get either one.

This is exactly why we need to play better and not be in these kinds of situations...

It doesn't do any good to complain about the calls/lack thereof at this point. It is what it is, and today we didn't get the breaks that were on the fence.

It was a good game from 2 good teams. Unfortunately for us it did not go our way. I think the loss of Talib + all of the injuries (and a questionable call on 3rd and 1 down in CAR's red zone where the score was tied with about 5-6 min left and yet Brady passes to no one in the end zone) were bigger factors, along with Cam Newton's ability to make some enormous scrambling plays on very crucial down and distances.

We need to play better. It's as simple as that. Can't make excuses. Let the other teams do that.

We left points on the board with the inability to score with a 17-17 game late in the 4th quarter, and we left points on the board with the Ridley fumble. More importantly, yet again we saw the opposition march down the field with a game winning TD late in a crucial game for about the 10th time in the past handful of years...

Kuechly didn't modify Gronk's route.

I mostly lurk but have seen you seem to be a fairly resonable poster this week so I am just curious how you can say he didn't modify the route? From my vantage he pushed him about 5 yards backwards and didn't let him come back for the ball at all. I will admit the other carolina defender had position and most likely would have broken it up but can you honestly say in good faith that 5 yards closer Gronk couldn't have outmuscled the two defenders? I have seen it too many times to bet against him and that he wasn't even allowed to try is a penelty.

Moving on, your team played well in the spot light and made more crucial plays thus deserving to win. Cam had at least 3 holy #%&$ did you see that plays and despite the loss it was a very entertaining game. Hope we see you guys again so we can avenge this.

I am the one acknowledging the end-game call probably wasn't the right one. I am being the fair one.

Some of you are just being delusional about the olsen-mccourty call.

Tell me this: did tirico and gruden agree with your assessment after viewing the replay? no? I wonder why not?

kuechly did not use his hands on gronk, did not push or pull, or turn the receiver. This is what I mean by "modifying" the route. "modifying" the route would result in a defensive holding.

What he WAS guilty of was faceguarding Gronk without turning his head, and not allowing Gronk a clear path back to the ball, while placing each arm on either side of him.

So defensive holding is not the right call. It's defensive PI or nothing at all.

The officials chose no call, which I don't really agree with. It should've been a PI.

Not everyone is as "entitled" as you think. You have a good defense and a scrappy team.

The "November Super Bowl" comment is due to seeing so many other fanbases and teams win their "big" game vs NE, which normally leads to not much else afterwards. The Jets are a prime example of that kind of situation. Only time will tell as to how good CAR is (or NE for that matter) down the stretch and in the playoffs.

After years of bad seasons, you have every reason to be excited. Good luck with the rest of the year and I hope that you can understand why we are upset right after the game due to 2 close calls where either went our way. Some of that is to be expected.

I agree with you on both calls. I personally think they were both PI's, although I also think that Olsen took advantage of the situation which was a smart and veteran thing to do. I don't think the McCourty play was nearly as obvious as the Kuechley one, but it is what it is.

At least you're able to agree that you likely got away with one, possibly two. Sometimes that happens. That is no reason to take away from the other aspects of the game.

I can't stand inconsistent officiating, and this is now 2 borderline calls (the first one was that horrible "pushing" call to the NYJ in OT which was the first time ever in the history of the NFL) where we lost at the very end of the game. You can understand why many are freaking out. I am also one of them, but I also think that we didn't play well enough to win, whereas you probably did.

Either way the fact remains that if you played tonight's game 4 times, there's probably a good chance that both teams may have walked away with a couple of wins each. Everything was very close.

I don't have the picture but I'm sure you've seen it... that wasn't a bear hug? I would be fine if all he did was facegaurd as that is not illegal... we lost an AFC championship on that "call" so we are very familiar with the legality of that rule. At least you can admit it was a bad non call which shows you are reasonable. I hate the new ****ification rules and scream at the TV even when it's Brady getting hit. This was football the way it was supposed to be two pretty evenly matched teams going blow for blow not the new NBA football. I'd be less pissed off if they had never thrown the flag. Does the winning by a crap call cheapen the win or you just happy to be 7-3 and call it a night?

It also is of note that N.England failed to produce a turnover on defense for the first time in 35, 36, maybe even 37 games, which was the longest streak in the NFL in some time.

That means that CAR also played a mistake free turnover free game. Obviously the odds go way up when that happens. It was a minus -2 game for us, and we all know what the odds are when that happens (although to be fair the 2nd one was the Gronk play at the end).

Hopefully we can get back to producing turnovers like we're normally able to in every single game. We see what happens when it doesn't happen, as I think that BAL in the AFCCG was another example (as are our playoff losses lately in general) where we lost the turnover battle.

As a ridiculously die hard Pats fan, I can guarantee you that I'd have been more than happy to have won the game on a crappy call

I'd expect that's the way it goes for all 32 teams around the league.

Both. Happy for the win, but feel it is a bit tainted. But I also know that an extra down from the 1 doesn't necessarily ensure a pats win either.

With respect to a hold, no, it didn't look like he grabbed him. But with arms on either side of Gronk, he definitely impeded where Gronk could go to play the ball. Like I said, PI or nothing, not holding.

heh...never touched him..that isn't grabbing......oooooof...*trip*...*fall*....blindfolded Joe Kerr falls down cellar stairs and cracks skull...

You clearly didn't see a replay from the other angle, he held him all the way and should get an Oscar for his performance,. Your local coverage probably didn't show it but they had some replays of other angles on the post game show here. He got away with it, admit it and move on.
