2014 Draft Prospect Thread

Mingo ran a 4.53. Shazier is claiming a 4.35

I'm sure that's not a completely accurate time otherwise I'd plug him in at CB , but even so, I think it certainy possible that he could be faster than Mingo. Jamie Collins was only 0.06 slower than Mingo fwiw.

Do you know how their times were on more quickness / burst related measures? I didn't see Collins play and haven't seen Shazier, but Mingo's seemed about the fastest LB/DE I've seen recently.

Mingo's and Collins' 10 yard splits were virtually identical whilst Mingo had a slight edge in the 3-cone (8.84 to 7.1) and Collins had an edge in the short shuttle. Bear in mind that Collins has 10 pounds on Mingo though.

Brandin Cooks Scouting Report ~ 2014 NFL Draft -

And if you don't know who The Fanatical Yankee is, check out his site and it should become clear (think profusion of smilies). He's one of our own and we should do our best to support him and he has some outstanding scouting reports.

I love how he puts the prospects in alphabetical order. By, their first name!!
Gotta love OTG.

You overwhelm me, Brother Manx. Coming from such an extraordinary fellow Evaluator of Talent, I am truly honored to've reaped such Praise!!

Like many who sit down in front of a KeyBoard, I write because I need to write. My Capitalistic Ambitions are indeed vast, but to be clear: my Blog is not a means to that end, but rather a means of consolidating and commanding my own Content...something I would recommend for everyone!!

Thanks for the kind words, Brother Manx. I always enjoy your Insight on all you Write!!

Hah!! Thank ye kindly, Brother Penn!!

Just one of many Eccentricities that I shamelessly indulge in!!

OTG—did you learn about Capitalism from a confused English teacher?

I love OTG's posts. Reading his posts makes me think that he is drinking a combo of soda, five hour energy, and monsters that would be lethal to the average guy. It would probably take some combination of ritalin, adderall, and insulin to bring you down to my level.

As you should've learned long ago: I take my Liberties with the Language whenever I see a means to improve it. I shouldn't have to explain to you, after all, that the Dictionary is not a Rule Book, but a Record.

...A Record only of the current Language.

Language is, after all, in a constant State of Change ~ of Evolution.

Again: That's something that I shouldn't have to explain to you.

Were that not so, we'd all still be grunting like Cavemen.

Thanks, as always, for your "Contribution."

God LOVE ya, Brother Matter!!

High Praise, indeed!!

Fizzy Lifting Drinks are of course my Secret.

I figured you'd have gotten the capital letters/capitalism joke. . . .

Sorry if I offended. :bricks:

Come on OTG, CT clearly had his tongue planted firmly in his cheek.....

Just been reading some of your scouting reports. Ouch re: Dobson and Chandler Jones (although I hated the latter as well)

I didn’t want Dobson either, Keenan Allen was my choice, and I still stand by that, though I’m looking forward to being proved wrong

If I was to say that one CB in this draft looked like a potential Talib replacement, I'd say it was Justin Gilbert of Oklahoma State. I don't love him in the way I do Dennard or Fuller but Gilbert fits really nicely as a long, very athletic corner that plays on an island, plays press, sits in the receivers pocket running downfield and displays genuine NFL pace. I'd even go so far as to say that he could be the first CB taken in the draft. I have a first round grade on him. Has excellent ball skills too.

Just saw this part of the thread ... found and bookmarked the page ... really like it but that is no surprise as I've long counted myself as an OTG fan.

Thanks Manxman and "Fanatical"

Ouch re: Dobson and Chandler Jones

1 ~ As you know, I dramatically changed my Position on Jones ~ here and on my Blog ~ months before he ever played a Down, but it would've hardly shown much Integrity to amend my Report, now, would it?

2
~ It's common knowledge that Jones is the classic example of The Industry sometimes having far better information than the rest of us. Everybody now knows that he was playing hurt in the Tape we all saw.

3 ~ Dobson and Jones ~ if Dobson does shake out well ~ would only be a fraction of my Misses. I like to think that I've had far more Hits, but there are plenty of Misses in my Future, and I don't hide from'm.

4 ~ But I've got to say that I find it bizarre and kind of pathetic that you're making this lame and unprovoked attempt to discredit me. It says far more about you than me, don't you think?

While Grid has had misses he's probably had some hits as well.
