Sure. But what team you would play where you dont want to control the clock and play defense? Shouldnt that be the goal against every team ? to control the clock and keep their offense off the field, whatever powered offense it maybe ? I think the offense's goal has to be to score TDs. Whatever way it is.Maybe once you get a lead in the 4th Q you can start running some time off but its way too early to change one's offensive philosophy from the first Q especially if that is not your identity. At least that is my opinion.
Timeout Broncos to conserve time for PM with 1:49 left. This is something BB needs to improve because in those situations he would have allowed the clock to run off 40 seconds. Now PM has a two minute drill.

anyhow, this game is as good as over now.
Against a high powered offense, you want to keep them off the field. Against an offensively challenged team, you want to turn it into a shoutout.
The Broncos lose over the last two years against teams that ground their offense in the first half and dominated the time of possession where they got size able leads.
What the Chargers are doing is dominating the time of possession and not scoring any points. That is not a good strategy for any team.
Rivers is already under enough pressure as it is. And they already did a drive doing what you suggested - 3 and out
