Great to see Gronk gronking, and Dobson developing into a legitimate threat. On the last drive of the first half, I loved how Dobson alertly stayed in bounds and picked up extra yardage while always remaining within a half step of the sidelines to make certain he could stop the clock once the running room dried up. And, no surprise: reports of Tom Brady's death were greatly exaggerated.

But...so hard not to think of what might have been. Oh, to have seen just one game with Wilfork, Mayo, Kelly, Talib and THIS offense! Once Ninkovich and Gregory went down today, the lineup was practically unrecognizable from game 1. Get well soon, guys!

I agree with you on this, after the game I was running to Walgreens and I thought to myself could this team actually have a shot at the Super Bowl which I was astonished to even be considering realistically considering all of the devastating loss this team has experienced this season. I concluded on some level that maybe this is what could have been, injuries are part of the NFL so maybe Belichick building and developing a roster capable of improving as the season goes and overcoming injuries is the “have been”.

That the patriots team we all wanted to see,That's the patriot team thats going to be successful.

they need to clean up the D. if they can't stop them on 3rd and 30....

exciting to see the O start to click.

It was nice to see after Ridley had the ball stripped they stuck with him.

I could not agree with anything in written today more than your post right here. Ridley is a damn good back and we need him if we’re going to do anything in the playoffs, the fact they showed confidence in him was huge and probably a great thing for the physique of a young player.

I had to watch on Red Zone in Northern VA because of the Ravens game. Can anyone explain why the follow up rushing TD after they ruled Gronk wasn't in, was called back? It looked like there was a penalty on the Steelers, but then RZ cut away and when they came back we were attempting to run it in again, unsuccessfully. I couldn't figure why our TD would come off if they had the penalty on the play.

I dont recall a penalty, but Bolden didn't get the ball over the plane.

Chandler Jones should have more than just 8.5 sacks. He was literally tackled by Heath Miller twice tonight. Both times would have resulted in a Roethlingsberger sack. Instead, Jones is tackled and Ben made the play. I am still scratching my head at how the Ref didn't call that since it happened right in front of him

Also, how was it that the Steelers were able to hit Brady so late so often without drawing a flag. There were several that were identical to plays that the Pats made in previous years that drew flags. Including the one where Heyward drove Brady into the ground. Yet, no call.

I didn't look too closely, but it seemed to me that the refs had decided against calling holding today.

For the second time this season:

This is the greatest sports photo of all time.

Interesting that Ridley caught three balls today. I had though Bolden as the 3rd down back was a bit much in the role department. I don't think he's a better receiver than Ridley. They're both average and since Ridley's a better back, having that pass threat with him is more effective.

Nothing against Bolden who I think is a nice backup for all the runners.

Unbelievable win!! 55 points? That is the WORST Beatdown the Steelers have given up in their entire Franchise History!!

Gronk is BACK!! *play Jaws music*

Dobson just had his coming out party! :rocker:

Ridley ran EXTREMELY well! Blount was a weapon in the 4th quarter.

I'm concerned about the secondary's performance this game, but encouraged that they made a lot of plays on the ball.

There's a LOT to LIKE!

But the Pats made enough mistakes that the coaching staff can still ream the players over in the film room. They won't feel overconfident even after this big win.

Most importantly - no big injuries, and we are 7-2 going into the bye!!

The Pats are in the driver's seat to win the division and have a good chance at the #3 seed. If Denver or KC stumble near the end, we could land the #2 seed and the first round bye. A VERY good win for the team, and a great way to go into the bye week!

After Gronk was ruled down at the 1 foot line on 3rd down, Bolden carried on 4th down. The Steelers jumped offsides on the Bolden run play. The run was initially ruled a TD so we declined the offsides. After the TD was reviewed and overturned (ruled Bolden down short of the GL), we took the offsides penalty which was half the distance to the goal, replay 4th down.

Overall if you look at some of the key players heading into the bye week they’ve actually had very solid seasons offensively:

? Brady: 9 games; 2,256 passing yards; 13 passing touchdowns
? Ridley: 8 games; 514 rushing yards; 6 rushing touchdowns
? Edelman: 9 games; 49 receptions; 473 receiving yards; 2 touchdowns
? Dobson: 8 games; 31 receptions; 454 receiving yards; 4 touchdowns
? Gronkowski: 3 games; 19 receptions; 284 receiving yards; 1 touchdown

Im very excited to see the Pats play. But was very disurbed by the faith the fans had in them when things started to go south this year. I keep seeing the fan base fall apart at the smallest problem or being behind. They lose complete faith in their boys.
Pats are not my team, but a 2nd, and I really had no thought they would fail.
Picking on TB and the players is counter productive. Their are many good things that could be said, but many more negative things that are.
All teams are trying, and as a NFL lineman said 100% of the guys are hurt at this point.
We're not suppose to be utopian, unicorn, blind love, but common when the game starts no one beats our boys, and no one should think for a second that their Pats will fail them. My point is Im less worried about the team of NE and more about the fans. This 380 degree posting about we suck, than we are the best has to stop. I might be wrong.

I think the Patriots are a damn good team this year.

Changes have had to be made ever since Demaryius Thomas caught the game-winning TD in overtime a couple of years back. Pittsburgh prefers to do it through the draft. Be patient. They'll be back one day. Just hope that it's while Big Ben still has something in the tank. In the end, you guys are going through what the Pats were going through starting in '08, and that's a rebuilding period.

Depending on where we are in the draft, we might be looking at Ben's replacement this year.

I think they're going to be back sooner rather than later. I believe the core of this team is something Tomlin can build around, but as another pointed out on SteelersFever, there isn't any innovative play calling or game planning on either side of the ball. LeBeau's defense hasn't been dominate, and for a defense that's supposed to be loaded with young talent, 55 points against is embarrassing.

I won't get into Todd Haley. For the love of God this guy has to go.

Football is such a strange sport.. After declaring the offense dead, and the Pats a defense first team, we are now entitled to the media doing yet another 360.

I am worried of course about the D and our Oline, but well that's just how it goes.

That's not the "fan" base, that's the bandwagon base. The curse of winning three Super Bowls, you suddenly acquire all these new "fans" who are all manic depressive soap opera actors.

This team has a lot of heart and depth, which we've needed.

Damn, you guys lost to the Jets too? They are actually damn strong in the trenches, but we should have beat them.

Big Ben's only 31. If the Steelers spend a high pick trying to draft his replacement this year, their personnel people need to be fired.

He's going to have to be resigned after the 2014 season. While I agree that his career is not over yet, it might be more constructive to start reloading the roster now. The first step to solving a problem is acknowledging there is one and our cap right now is a mess.

I hope this is the end of the whole "brady is declining and too old" junk from the media....he finally has his top 2 targets healthy and Dobson finally gets it. and surprise he looks like brady of old.

and now we get another weapon back after the bye in Shane vereen
