Depending on where we are in the draft, we might be looking at Ben's replacement this year.
I think they're going to be back sooner rather than later. I believe the core of this team is something Tomlin can build around, but as another pointed out on SteelersFever, there isn't any innovative play calling or game planning on either side of the ball. LeBeau's defense hasn't been dominate, and for a defense that's supposed to be loaded with young talent, 55 points against is embarrassing.
I won't get into Todd Haley. For the love of God this guy has to go.
IMO, that would be the wrong move. Franchise QBs are hard to find, and even the worst teams can turn it around in a year or two with some savvy FO moves. Personally, if I'm the Steelers' GM, my first priority is purging the defense of guys who can no longer justify their paycheck. Polamalu is still good, and Timmons is excellent. Heyward is a good piece.
Drafting, they seem to have fallen into a rut even worse than the Pats from 2005-2008. The Patriots identified the problem and fixed it, though, and if the Steelers can do the same, then you'll be surprised to see how much they can turn around with two good draft classes.
