The Official Patriots vs Steelers Post game thread

Decent oline blocking, wide open receivers, catching bombs which they dropped in past games and a terrible terrible game plan by the steelers made this offense go. I wouldnt any other decent team to play this type of defense so we cant get carried away. But a great confidence builder for the team because they needed it.

Re: R: The Official Patriots vs Steelers Post game thread

Also, good playcalling by Josh...

I still don't think it was the best of play calling it was better but we should run the ball more, also we should try to throw the deep ball more.

With all the talk about Brady being too old and not elite anymore, boy was he sharp.

Just looked at every pass he threw and all of them were on target (minus two throw aways). There were 3 very bad drops but other than that, Brady was flawless. Hopefully this pattern continues with the brutal schedule coming up.

Man just imagine with Kelly Wilfork mayo Talib ughhhhh

We saw what that looked like earlier in the season - a unit that was stout in all areas and a top-ten D (at least it looked that way). We finally were going to have everything we needed, and then the injuries kept hitting non-stop.

I know that several teams have had a lot of injuries. But this team, being 7-2 with all the turnover in personnel, and all the injuries, is amazing.:rocker:

Offense, defense, special teams, coaching. You name it. The Patriots dominated that game.

Dobson is really starting to show skeptical folks precisely why the team took him in the second. He's a deep threat that can blow the top off of a defense and with the way teams try to defend the Patriots, he'll get his fair share of opportunities to do just that and punish teams for trying to flood the middle.

It's either respect his abilities, or get burnt by them. The Steelers learned the hard way today.

Aaron Dobson: 31 receptions 454 yards 4 TDs

3rd in rookie WR receptions, 3rd in yards, and 1st in TDs

I'm not sure if he will catch Keenan Allen , but he should be 2nd in every rookie WR stat if he continues to start 80% of the snaps and improve at this rate.

For comparison, Deion Branch's rookie year (the best of any patriot)

43 receptions 489 yards 2 TDs

Me excited

It looks like Dobson might exceed Branch's production (don't want to jinx it).
Wasn't Branch injured during is rooky season.

For the second time this season:

His team hates him

GREAT game today, really what this team needed heading into the bye especially given the offense's struggles thus far.

Offense - been saying all year even in the darkest days just wait until Gronk gets back to speed and it will be a different offense. Now Vereen is due back soon as well. If Amendola manages to finally stay healthy, wow. Brady finally hitting Dobson deep was awesome to see, hopefully these two have finally clicked for good. I was hoping we'd hit our stride offensively sometime after the bye, perhaps it already has. Ridley's fumble was a killer for sure, but I am glad BB didn't punish him and you saw exactly why he shouldn't. Awesome game aside from the fumble.

Defense - they were okay, PA is inflated by 2 drives starting in our territory and then a garbage time TD. One thing that really bothered me was it's the 2nd week in a row we gave up a 3rd and very long to a screen pass. Well they didn't get the 1st on that play but were close enough for a 4th down conversion. Other than that, it was an okay performance considering Talib wasn't there. They did stop Pitt alot early on until the offense took over and the pass rush looked very nice.

ST - Ghost perfect as always. Allen did not have a good day. Edelman continues to show he's one of the best PR's to have. Hopefully Leon is good to go after the bye - another weapon to unleash.

Nice team win. Let's get healthy during the bye.

Someone put a muzzle on 87 this week....please.....crazy glue his shirt on and his door shut.

Dobson looks like he's over the rookie jitters, and he's finally on the same page as Brady.

I knew it would only be a matter of time.

Having Gronk back opens things up for him as well.

Jeff Howe ?@jeffphowe 22m
Belichick: "Not sure how it all happened. Maybe we got our inspiration from the Red Sox."

Now you've done it. This thread will be derailed by haters in 3..2...1..

You wouldnt know it when dropped the 3rd down when he was killed in the game thread Not letting him off the hook but the 81 yrd TD made everyone forget how many such bombs we have not executed in the past leading to questioning brady's age ,arm strength ,mcdaniels -everything but just catching the football. He is a rookie , he is learning but people here react so -vely to the poor kid with nicknames and such for any drop...

Don't know if this has been posted yet. But I will just drop this in here.

that's how it's done fellas - bravo Pats....brady actually completed a pass over 10 yards IN THE AIR! Get health, get tough, and most importantly get some attitude on defense...through all the injuries, terrible drafting in the secondary and poor free agency signings, it is a miracle this team is 7-2.

They're baaack....

With Gronk playing like an animal, Amendola playing, Ridley and Blount running well, and Brady hopefully connecting with Dobson more like he did today, and this O is going to return to dominance.

I thought the D held their own, especially the front seven. Dennard got a bit exposed today without Talib (although he did still make some plays). With Talib back you've got a top 10, maybe top 5 defense.

The future certainly looks bright. Great game.

Agreed, but with Browne, Sanders and Cotchery (Pat killer), the Steelers have three very good WRs...and despite the misery of this year, Rothlesburger can still throw it.
