TNF: Cincinatti Bengals at Miami Dolphins - preview and prediction
By: John Morgan

This is a tough spot for Miami to be in, attempting to rebound from a slide in a short week to face a very good team. Right now these are two trains heading in opposite directions: the Bengals have won four in a row while Miami has lost four straight....

SMASH the Flipper Frauds!! Plug Their Blowholes With Cement!!

I am so not right....please...humor me, I'll be alright...:rapture:

Give Miami 3 points for HFA.

Tannehill is a bit better than Geno.

If Jets lost by 40...how many points do Fins lose by?

10 ? 17 ? 20 ? More than 20?

My guess would be around 21 points.......

Got in here late but my prediction is MIA wins this game. Don't know fully why but I'd say I don't fully trust the Bengals and think MIA will show up at home in prime time.

Well, though you don't seem to be feeling bad now but in case happen to later, know that there is a very good reason for the top guys in the game like BB admonishing people if they downplay an opponent based on the opponent's history and perceived weakness.

While Miami is getting players back on the field, Cincinnati is much more banged up, with four defensive players out: CB Leon Hall (achilles), S Taylor Mays (shoulder), LB Rey Maualuga (concussion, knee), and DT Devon Still (elbow); in addition LB Michael Boley is questionable with a hamstring injury. That depleted defense, together with the Bengals having to play on the road on a short week gives the Dolphins some hope – but is that enough for a Miami victory?

The answer of course was yes, and those two factors were key. Well, that and Dalton's pick-six which was a 14 (or at least 10) point swing.

Road teams playing on a short week on Thursday night this year:

Wk 2: Jets lost at New England
Wk 3: Chiefs beat Eagles
Wk 4: 49ers beat Rams
Wk 5: Bills lost at Cleveland
Wk 6: Giants lost at Chicago
Wk 7: Seahawks beat Cardinals
Wk 8: Panthers beat Bucs
Wk 9: Bengals lost at Miami

Of the road wins you have:
- An undefeated team beating a team that has lost 10 straight home games
- Defending NFC champs beating a team that was allowing 31 points per game
- Perhaps the best team in the NFC beating a mediocre team
- A really good defense defeating a winless team that has lost 8 straight home games

I'm late to the party too. I bet Miami wins by a safety....

LOL, sorry. Did you see that finish? How did the Bengals manage not only to beat us, but to make us look foolish to boot? Someone said they are a different team on the road. I guess that is true.

Cincinnati Bengals on the road:

Lost at Chicago
Lost at Cleveland
Won at Buffalo in OT by 3
Won at Detroit by 3
Lost at Miami

While beating the Lions is impressive, as a whole their road resume is rather weak - especially if they are to be considered one of the best in the conference and a Super Bowl contender.

I really didn't watch any of it. Was busy with the kids for Halloween but had a feeling MIA would win. Figured CIN would not run the ball like they should and have Dalton pass all over the place.

I actually picked Miami to win in my pick em contest. I just never thought it would be by a safety!!

I wanted the Bengals to lose just because they own the tie -breaker over the Pats.
