Ex-NFL star Holloway loses trashed house to bank | New York Post

here's a picture of the "youths" that trashed his house after breakling in and throwing a spontaneous cyber party...

Holloway, a father of eight who lives in Florida, used the Berkshires-area house as a summer home, but had listed the property for sale.

By September, public records showed he owed more than $1 million on the house and was more than $45,000 in arrears on property taxes.

At the time, Holloway, 54, told The Post he had been working with his lenders to hang on to the home, which he bought 30 years ago when he played for the New England Patriots.

After the sale yesterday, Holloway said he was still fighting for the property.

“This is like being in the third quarter and you’re down by three touchdowns,” he told The Associated Press as he left court. “The game’s not over.”

Best of luck to the big man...

Stupid, moronic youths. I wonder how many of them are the spawn of Jets fans.

Hope some of their parents are long-time Pats fans and realize their kids are scum and need a little scrubbing.

I believe that alot of the participants were identified and their parents notified.

A cleanup was scheduled with the parents and kids thet were ID'd and only a handful showed up to clean up the damage they had caused.

Great parenting skills by the hundred + that DIDN'T show. I also heard that some of the parents were going to sue HOLLOWAY.

What a bunch of morons.

Lets be clear though. Holloway didn't lose the house because of the kids, he lost the house because he didn't pay his bills.

Everybody in this story is a loser.

The kids, the parents and Holloway (he is full of crap - - about this being "his" house and all the way back to his weird racial rants on videos about Tom Brady vs. Michael Vick for the 2010 MVP).

There is obviously a very serious psychological issue Brian Holloway must deal with. It would best be done outside of the media.

What a minute -- what's this all about?

I don't know if I feel all that bad for Holloway. It was a summer home that he bought 30 years ago or so, but still owed $1 million on it. Sounds like he mortgaged that house to the hilt to spend on other things like a Bentley that he was in for the Youtube video he said Michael Vick should win the MVP over Brady.

I think those kids who trashed his house are immature little snots and deserve everything they get including if they do lose out on getting into certain colleges, but I am not sure I feel sorry for Holloway losing his house.

I think the chances of them not getting into colleges over this are remote.
I also think the majority of those kids showed up because there was a party, just like you or I would, and a select few vandalized the house, just like would happen anywhere.

You are probably right, but you never know. College admissions boards do actually check the web on candidates to see if there is anything negative about them. It is usually only the top institutions and only with borderline candidates, but it has happened.

And having your picture taken at a party where someone vandalized the home is not grounds for declining admission.
However, the parents were claiming that being arrested would affect their college careers.
Thats the silly part, the parents instead of parenting are crying about the victim reporting the people who commited the crime because it could have a bad impact on them. This was AFTER he invited all who were there to come clean up no questions asked and 3 kids showed.

I know someone who was on the advising committee for Harvard for potential candidates for a few years and you would be shocked by the reasons people were declined admissions at times.

I am not saying having your picture on Holloway's website would definitely (or even probably) be grounds for declining admissions, but I wouldn't be surprised if a major, competitive university did use it for grounds for declining admissions.

I'm not siding with the parents on this issue. I think if the kids were involved and it does ruin their chances to go to a Harvard, it is their own fault. I am just saying their argument may be right that if they are borderline candidates at a major univeristy, this could ruin their chances to get in. The probability is probably low of that, but it is possible. Universities do check candidates Twitter and Facebook accounts in some cases.

Anyone proven to be at the party can and should be charged with a variety of crimes which could be grounds for declining admissions.

Someone who likely sucked every possible bit of equity out of their second home, in this case potentially a million dollars, without a realistic chance of it being payed back isn't going to get any sympathy from me.

I disagree that anyone there deserves to be charged.
Guilt by association is not a legal tenet.

Remember the parents argument came IN RESPONSE TO Holloway saying they could show up and help clean no questions asked, but if they don't he would find out who they were and out them.
If parents advised them to not go help, they have only themselves to blame.

What does that have to do with disgusting behavior. They should be forced to get down on their hands and knees with toothbrushes to clean the place. It sounds like you are excusing their behavior and I'm certain that's not what you meant.

Its quite the opposite. What the kids did at the party has nothing to do with him losing the house.

Holloway's quite possibly 'guilty' of the same sort of out of control debt that the US citizens and government are prone to but a trashed house is significantly harder to try to sell than one that is in good shape.

It's not really a matter of feeling bad for the guy it's that the parent's responses were awful. Not only did very few come to help clean up but many threatened to sue because he posted photos from the party. You know the ones he got from his super secret surveillance system - oh wait, no sorry, these were public photos the kids themselves posted that he just reposted. So yeah, definitely let's sue him.

My sincere sympathy for him in the execrable trashing of his house by young adults of no character with irresponsible loser parents. Not much sympathy for losing his 2nd home though.

My biggest concern for him is in listening to him on the radio a couple times, it's clear that he's' a certifiable loon. Something really miswired with this guy. Don't know if he was always that way buy he's bat**** crazy. Hope he gets help because he needs it. A sad story.
