do they move McCourty back to CB for the week and move a sub into the S slot

or do they just bump the CB's up a man and adjust the nickel/dimes from there, keeping McCourty at S?

the passing attach of the Jets is not exactly top-shelf, but I am wondering what the thoughts are with this one, considering it isn't mid-game against a quality passing team, and they've had a week to coach up a replacement at either position

They would bump up Logan Ryan, or put McCourty at CB and put Harmon at Safety.

um, thanks

i'm wondering which angle folks speculate they will take

both scenarios have their advantages/disadvantages.....just wondering what folks think we'lll see

I think it's a better idea to move McCourty to CB and start Harmon at FS. If McCourty stayed at FS, then either Arrington or Ryan would be starting outside, which would almost certainly be exploited.

I'm more concerned about the run match-ups without Wilfork and Mayo. Ivory had some nice runs the last time we played them.

I'd rest Talib even if he's available. Santonio Holmes is out, Clyde Gates is out for the year, Winslow's probably their best target but he's suspended. So we're really looking at Jeremy Kerley who isn't bad but is dealing with some back issues, and I have no idea who else they have left to be honest.

So I don't think it's worth risking Talib, and I don't think he's needed. I think they'll give Ryan the snaps at corner over Harmon at safety with McCourty moving down. Ryan's a pretty physical corner and shows up in the run game too.

We're playing the jets. We're fine with Dennard, Arrington and Ryan at our corners.

Either way, we'll be seeing a lot more of either Ryan or Harmon--if not both at times in subs, which may be helpful in terms of getting them more live reps and experience.

They were both selected rather high in the draft, so may as well continue to get them some looks.

I'm not fond of that approach. Even if you wish to look past the Jets because you think they suck, Talib may be out for more than 1 week, so the plan should be the one that is best for the team, not one based on who cares what we do the Jets suck.
The next 2 games are huge. They are division games, in a division where we have a lead of 1 1.2 and 2 games. Lose them both and we could be tied for 2nd. Win them both and we will have at least a 2 1/2 game lead through 8, which could be insurmountable.
I think we should consider these 2 perhaps the 2 biggest games of the regular season, not ones where we can screw around because we think we already won.

Dennard moves to Talib's role, Ryan takes Dennard's role and Arrington stays our slot CB. I'd rather see Arrington on Kerley than Ryan. Without Winslow and Holmes Kerley's going to get targetted a lot. I like Dennard on Hill with Ryan covering Nelson. I also expect to see some screens to Cribbs.

McCourty is our perfect anchor back there at safety I don't want him back at corner, he's too effective in the safety role, imo.

the jets had 129 yards rushing the first time they played and now no wilfork no Kelly no mayo, I think the jets will run a lot more then throw sunday
