ESPN magazine: Patriots will be 9-7???

With a healthy Brady, 10-6 is the floor IMO. That alone should be good enough to win the division.

Apparently, the hope for a return to the 2002 scenario is the only way the 'experts' can see a team seizing control of the division. Even at 9-7, I would not be quick to predict any other team in the division with even that record. Last year, it was the Bills. This year it's the Fish.

I heard Colin Cowherd (Patriot Homer) discussing this with the writer last week. He thought it was comical also.

This is just one of those off the wall predictions with nothing to back it up. No repercussions on his career, but you bet your behind if it happens he will use this as his crown jewel of his life's work. Basically throwing stuff out there to see if it will stick and make a name for himself. He pretty came off as a rookie in the interview anyway.

I didn't say that we would be fine. I merely said that it is not all crazy to think that the patriots counting on 4 rookie receivers may not work out. (and also replacing Welker with Amendola). It is not like the patriots have a great track record with rookie receivers.

We look back. Those silly analysts look at what they can see.

BTW, one can only wish that our defense is as good as that team's defense.

Did you really just call the meatheads at PFF "analysts?"

12-4 even with all these dang injuries. 19-0 next year lol

And those 4 losses were by a combined 18 points. Only one being more than 4 points and that was only 7 points.

Perspective-

Carolina's 4 losses were by a combined 40
SF's 4 were by a combined 50

And those 4 losses were by a combined 18 points. 3 of them being by 4 or less points.
but if you only count the first 59 minutes they'd be 8-7-1.

To which i would answer, what would they have been if games were 61 minutes long (14-2)?

70 minutes, hang tough...

16-0

That didn't stick on the wall very well. At the end of the season you look as clueless as your predictions.

Who would pay good money for this rag

This should put to rest any future posts using PFF anal-ysis to back up their opinions.

Its not the first time they've done this. I think in 2006 maybe 2007 they predicted miami would win the division and the pats wouldn't make the playoffs. That year Miami came in last, and the pats played in the AFCCG.

I remember that, because SuperChicken John Clayton was on the radio before Week 1
of the '06 season saying the exact same thing, the dumbass.

Those of you with Twitter accounts need to keep bringing stuff like this to the attention of Mike Reiss. Maybe, if he sees enough of it, he'll stop pointing to their crap as if it's meaningful.

Ah yes, because the Jets and Bills have looked just stellar over the last few seasons...

The Patriots managed to win 12 games with Reche Caldwell, Doug Gabriel, Chad Jackson, Jabar Gaffney, Ben Watson, the ghost of Corey Dillon and Laurence Maroney. They'll be fine in the regular season.

That was prophetic. You ought to write for them.

When I read predictions like this against a team that has BB and Brady, I think "Wouldn't it be nice?" by the Beach Boys would be an appropriate theme song.

Just wishful thinking for the fans that hate the Pats and for the teams that have served as the 'Welcome' mat at the door of years worth of division titles, AFC championships and Super Bowls. If only the Pats had lost 5 more games this season, this prediction would have been close to spot on.
