Interesting notion mentioned on the G&Z show:

Call K.C., who needs a RB to back up and spell Charles, and see what it would take to pry Moeaki loose. If they'd take Bolden, there's a problem solved.


Moeaki has been a capable TE when not on the shelf, and he'd add another member/exhibit to the glass menagerie.

I think KC would have to be insane to accept that trade, but who knows.

Normally you'd think they wouldn't, but Moeaki's another glassman and he's from the old regime. Toss in the signing of Fasano, and the rumors are that Moeaki is on the outs. I don't know if Bolden would be enough, or if the Chiefs would want a pick along with him, or if they'd ask for Blount instead, etc..., or if he's even definitely available, but I think it would be worth the phone call to check into it.

5 years in, Julian Edelman is averaging a yearly total of 18 catches a year, so I'm not exactly sure when you started to consider him a "good" NFL wide receiver?

Aside from his rookie year when he got some catches in the slot in place of Welker (37) , he has had grand totals of 7, 4, and 21 catches....that's not what most of us consider a good wide receiver.

I wouldn't think it's really a need myself, but others may disagree.

I think that Sudfeld should be able to take over and produce on some level until Gronk returns, and in the meantime Ballard and Fells can offer something at the inline TE position as more natural and better blockers.

Fells returned to practice today so he couldn't have been too banged up, having only missed about a week or so.
