Did you actually read that article? Half the states are northern states..

edit: here's a more recent article with links to several other sources Creationism spreading in schools, thanks to vouchers ? MSNBC

Just to be clear, if it wasn't earlier, I absolutely hate that this is happening

I live in a "northern" state. Rhode Island. Here in THIS "northern" state we are used to southern bigots besmirching our lives and our beliefs. Just torrents and torrents of vile hate mongering for generations aimed at the "dirty Catholics" and "rotten Jews" blaming US for everything from communism to forced busing. Your list that you claim is filled with "northern" states doesn't list ONE northern state commonly attacked and vilified by southern hate groups for centuries.

Here are the NORTHERN states we who live here consider northern...New Jersey, New York,Vermont,New Hampshire, Maine,Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Delaware and the eastern half of Pennsylvania. The western half of Pennsylvania for all intents and purposes ,can be best described as midwestern in values.

I visited the Smithsonian a number of times from when I was a child right up to a few years ago. I am continually learning new things every time I visit. I have yet to see the "Man living with dinosaurs fossil recreation" exhibit or the recalibration of current radiometric dating methods available for public perusal.

The rejection of the validity of fossils and of dating by religious fundamentalists creates a problem for them:
Millions of fossils have been discovered.

They cannot deny that hundreds of millions of fossils reside in display cases and drawers around the world. Perhaps some would argue that these specimens - huge skeletons of dinosaurs, blocks from ancient shell beds containing hundreds of specimens, delicately preserved fern fronds — have been manufactured by scientists to confuse the public. This is clearly ludicrous.

Some skeptics believe that all fossils are the same age.

Otherwise, religious fundamentalists are forced to claim that all the fossils are of the same age, somehow buried in the rocks by some extraordinary catastrophe, perhaps Noah’s flood. How exactly they believe that all the dinosaurs, mammoths, early humans, heavily-armored fishes, trilobites, ammonites, and the rest could all live together has never been explained. Nor indeed why the marine creatures were somehow ‘drowned’ by the flood.

Rejecting fossil data cannot be supported by proof.

The rejection of dating by religious fundamentalists is easier for them to make, but harder for them to demonstrate. The fossils occur in regular sequences time after time; radioactive decay happens, and repeated cross testing of radiometric dates confirms their validity.

It sure is strange that we REAL northerners, continually excoriated and scorned as idiots and blind morons (see THIS thread as an example), seem to rely on FACT and VERIFIABLE scientific information as our guide...yeah, we MUST be stupid. We'll leave the discussion of "creationism" to you TRUE geniuses down there in Appylacheycocacola and Hog Hollow Junction. I'll sit back and wait for the explanation of our "motus operendi" by Fat Slob Hog Brandi before I consider watching the "Adam, Eve & Ty Rannosaurus Show".

You're making imaginary arguments. Demosthenes agrees that the defense "stepped up" when they needed to. Keep pretending he said differently.

If you say so. What was the combined record of the teams that the Broncos and Tebow faced after their bye week?

Well hell, what was the combined records of the teams the Pats beat in the 2011 regular season ?

I just never realized how much talent that team had offensively, I always thought of them as Tebow and then a ton of defensive talent.

I thought it was interesting and I had never realized it before I looked tonight so I figured I'd share it so if others who had not seen it before could know.

I use this site to educate myself on football and many others do the same so I like to repay or pay it forward by sharing information that could be educational to other members.

So are you suggesting that Tebow was not a big reason why the gators won 2 national championships?

You must be some kind of special or something. BTW - is it possible that you could change your avatar to a picture of Tebow with his mouth closed?

Duhhh...

And how is that relevant? Tom Brady was the quarterback, they went 13-3 and they didn't back their way into the playoffs.

I was listing the offensive players that he played with that went on to play in the the NFL. Make of that what you'd like C.

Bill Belichick discusses Tim Tebow's fit with New England Patriots

One of the big challenges that Patriots have faced since bringing Tim Tebow to town is finding how to best utilize the quarterback’s unique set of skills.

They realized early on that Tebow is not best suited running the same offense as Tom Brady and Ryan Mallett, so the team created a second package of plays, which contains a number of read-option plays, that were fist put on display during Friday’s preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

But running two offenses has been a bit of a juggling act for Belichick. There have been moments when Tebow has been allowed to run his package of plays during training camp, however, those moments come in small doses.

Belichick discussed these challenges Monday afternoon during an appearance on Boston radio station WEEI.

“It’s something that you have to look at with time management,” Belichick said. “The decisions that you make are important there. You don’t want to waste time on something that doesn’t benefit you, but at the same time, you want to be prepared for, and take advantage of the players’ skills that you have.

“I don't think it's uncommon. We've had those types of things in our offense before. This is a little bit different, but we're not trying to reinvent the game or anything. We're just trying to take advantage of a particular player's skill, and that's no different than something we would do with a tight end, or a receiver or running back who has a skill that we want to try to take advantage of.”

Belichick then pointed to the 2008 season, when the Patriots took advantage of Matt Cassel’s ability to run the ball. He had 73 carries for 270 yards that season.

If Tebow has the opportunity to get on the field this season, Belichick said he will take full advantage of his ability to run the ball.

“ I think that we're hopefully flexible enough offensively to try to take advantage of whoever we have in the game,” Belichick said. “Tim is certainly a good runner, so when he's in there, we'll probably let him carry the ball a few times."

I asked you because I didn't want to put words in your mouth. So I asked if that was what you were trying to say.

what do you mean by "you must be some kind of special or something"?

Dude, are you Merril Hoge? Or a relative or close friend? Tebow's very existence bothers you.

You're always SOOO defensive... Don't quite get the insecurity. But let's get this straight.... Someone calls the southern states ignorant and posts an article... Then someone points out its not just southern states referenced in said article. And you flip it to say someone was actually attacking your presious northern state as being ignorant? Relax dude... Not everyone is out to get you, your state or your favorite team. For the record I agree with the points you made as I'm an agnostic who holds science and logic over the illogical magic of books written by old men to answer unanswerable questions thousands of years ago...... I was also born and raised in the south.

I think this gives a pretty decent hint at whether or not Tebow will make the 53 man roster, whether anyone agrees or not.

It would seem to me that Belichick isn't going to go through all of this trouble and media attention to simply get rid of him a couple of months later.

There's no way Tim Tebow isn't on the roster this year. We're going with 3 quarterbacks.

So you are back to personally insulting posters when partaking in a debate. You need to apply the comment you made to me to yourself.

Christiancat - so tell us, why are you so defensive? I mean come on. You can put on this act like you are something special. The fact remains that Tim Tebow is a false idol of yours. You should stop worshiping him and do something else other than lament about him on a message board.

BTW - that is probably something that Tim Tebow would want you to do.

LOL - ok Christiancat. Why don't you call up John Elway and ask him why Manning is the Broncos quarterback and not Tebow? Thanks for playing.

And how's that working out for one of the biggest douches in football?

Back when Brady was an efficient game manager we all said Manning can have the stats as long as Brady gets the trophies. Then 2007 happened and we got stats-spoiled and now we all trot out the same statlines to excuse the fact that we're trophy-less.

Me? If I'm a Broncos fan I'd be more excited about an ugly playoff win than a pretty playoff exit.

But you know, whatever, Elway is the greatest judge of talent in the world because he agrees with you wrt Teebs.

I wouldn't blame Manning for the atrocious defensive secondary that the Broncos had last year.

first off, it's precious..not "presious". Secondly, I'm not aware that I was addressing YOU or YOUR religious beliefs or where you were born and raised. I thought what I was explaining was an error to the person who posted that "northern" states were complicit in this creationism idiocy. You obviously have a real BIG problem with me and whatever I post on THIS, a Patriots fan board. I do not post on your board. I do not need any information or any input from YOU as to what I can and cannot post HERE. Is that clear, Grand Wizard?

now FOAD.
