Well that's a bummer, that was the main reason I was really looking forward to these practice sessions.

Look's like I'll be watching Dobson/Thompkins make Banks look silly.

It'll be a heavy dose of Bucs brand of football; joint practices this week, pre season game Friday and for real week 3

Let's hope BB doesn't lose his mind and trade for the entire Bucs roster of Schiano coached players.

I'm just concerned half our team will see Schiano and mistakenly go to the wrong sideline Friday night.

I watched a replay of the Ravens-Bucs game yesterday; forget the final score. The Tampa Bay starters outplayed the Baltimore starters. Defensively on the first series the Bucs CB made a nice jump on the ball to intercept Flacco, and Tampa drove close to the end zone before settling for a FG. Vincent Jackson had what looked to be a real nice catch that would have put the ball at about the 5-yard line, but Harbaugh challenged and it was ruled he stepped out of bounds.

On the next series Tampa had the Ravens pinned inside their 20 and would have had a 3-and-out but their rookie DE got over anxious and was offsides. I think the Ravens got only one first down and were forced to punt. Tampa drove inside the red zone again, but again had to settle for a FG.

After that most of the starters were done, and things fell apart for the Bucs on special teams. A muffed punt (trying to catch the ball on the run as it started to rain) led to a one-play scoring drive. Then after Tampa scored a TD their ST gave up a very long kickoff return to set up another touchdown. Finally some odd clock management (called a timeout with 2+ minutes remaining when Baltimore had the ball 1st & 10) ended up with the Ravens scoring a TD with about 30 seconds to go. The Bucs threw two incomplete passes and were sacked on 3rd down, then had their punt blocked - and the Ravens recovered for another TD. In the second half Baltimore scored on nearly every possession for the blowout final score.

Up front Tampa Bay has a very good offensive line. As a group they had a major role in Doug Martin's big 2012 season, and this year they are improved with the return of Davin Joseph (Pro Bowl guard missed all of 2012 with a knee injury) and Carl Nicks (Pro Bowl guard missed last 11 games last year). It should make for a very good test to see where the Pats' starting front seven is playing against this unit, especially with the starters presumably getting a bit more playing time in this game.

In big news, they did NOT dive at legs during the kneel down.

I think the Bucs starters will be a tougher challenge than the Eagles starters, but it is still the second preseason game. I still don't know how much it means if the Pats starters blow them out or get blown out.

Still impressed that Edelman managed to pick up 20+ yards on a muff.

Edelman has the potential to take it to the house on every single punt return in my opinion. He does have a knack for mishandling the ball at times that I'd like to see corrected though. I don't think it's necessarily anything to overreact to, but it's something of a concern at times nonetheless.

Some matchups I'm looking forward to:

Our DBs vs Bucs big, play making WRs
Our DL vs Bucs OL - one of the better ones on paper
Our run game vs Bucs front 7 - Bucs run ranking mostly because they suck versus the pass but they do have two really good LBs in Mason Foster and Lavonte David
Our OL vs Bucs DL - Bucs drafted DL and DEs high for so many years. Will this be the year they finally click?
Our WRs vs Bucs DBs - No Revis but they have Mark Barron, Dashon Goldson

I NEVER look forward to Our DBs vs ANYONE. Until proven otherwise, they are still the leak wink to our team, and are even weaker without a pass rush.
