Gronk family interview with CBS This Morning

Bring them to court for breach of contract?

The worse thing the NFL could do is threaten not to renew the next contract when it comes up. But everyone knows the NFL will sell their package to the highest bidder. They are not going to leave millions and millions of dollars on the table because some reporter asked Gronkowski about Hernandez.

You do not think the threat initself is enough to get CBS to squash reporters asking questions the NFL would rather not be asked?

And do you think the difference between the bids is millions of dollars?

That was my point, the NFL COULD...sheesh, talk about laser-like focus. Calling me an idiot for saying the NFL could do something..and then agreeing that they could....I mean, come on man....come on.

Yes, I called you an idiot for even bringing up the point in light of context. You're bringing up a totally unrealistic point for absolutely no reason that doesn't advance this thread's discussion points. So yes, I maintain that you are an idiot.

I am sorry, what is your point? That the NFL cannot stop CBS journalists from asking questions, I said they could....so, exactly what is your problem?

Concede little man, concede that you are wrong, I am right...and say "thank you sir, may I have another"

Thank You. THIS. I am done trying to explain a very simple point like this to Nunchucks.

Let us all remember folks that THE most importing thing in our lives is to prove ourselves RIGHT on the Interwebs!
Peace out!

WTF is wrong with you? No, the NFL cannot stop CBS journalists from asking questions of players who willingly show up and agree to interviews. I'm done with you.

They certainly can, I showed one way they could....I am sorry that you are too stubborn to admit you are wrong, but come on man. The truth is out there, open your mind and see that executives can pressure to achieve what they wish to achieve and if that is tell CBS to squash questions about XYZ, then that is what will happen.

I know you believe in journalistic integrity, but pull your naive self out of the land of unicorns, dragons and rainbows with a pot of gold and get with reality.

Holy crap you are really stupid.

Holy crap you are really stupid.

Yeah, you got nothing but insults....Live in your carebear land and play your D&D. In real life, we do not use 20 sided dice.

I like to post here with my fellow Pats fans but sometimes I remember why it's often more interesting to troll Jets boards.

The NFL absolutely can revoke access from individual reporters/journalists who don't 'play ball'. I'd be very surprised if they did over something like this, but they're under no obligation to grant access to anyone.

This is exactly why you see so many puff pieces in the media, whether it be relating to politics, entertainment, sports, or anything else. Because if you really piss someone off, they'll usually stop talking to you.

I'm sure you're a huge hit on that board

No, because it's an empty threat.
And do you think the difference between the bids is millions of dollars?
Actually, it's probably more like hundreds of millions of dollars. ABC/ESPN has an NFL deal. NBC has an NFL deal. FOX has an NFL deal. So exactly who is going to compete against CBS for their AFC package and offer anywhere near as much money? TNT? Telemundo?

I am sorry, what is your point? That the NFL cannot stop CBS journalists from asking questions, I said they could....so, exactly what is your problem?
There's no problem. You're totally wrong and don't know what the heck you're talking about, but I don't see why I need to call that a problem.

I think a lot of people need to get a grip on reality. The NFL is a very powerful sports league, but they're not God. People saying they can force CBS News not to talk about Aaron Hernandez reminds me of the idiots saying that (I swear I am not making this up) Bob Kraft and Roger Goodell would pressure Hernandez's lawyers to accept any plea deal that comes along to save the league any embarrassment from a trial.

Gronk carried himself in a very classy manner. NFL players are role models and I am glad to see many in the NFL carry themselves as such.

I was saying the same thing earlier, but now I'm not so sure. The NFL issues media passes to organizations, who assign reporters to cover the event. I'm honestly not sure they can, for example, say to the Boston Globe "we're issuing you 3 passes, but you can't give one to Shank Shaugnessey."

Of course, if they were that adamant against Shank then they could just choose not to give the Globe any credentials, but that would be a very unwise course of action.
