Came here to post this.

At least it wasn't Pollard that Hernandez shot, then I'd feel more conflicted.

This was bound to happen. This is him at Florida, when he was 19.

What a dumbass.

Just in -- Hartford Correctional Center confirms Carlos Ortiz, 27, being held on $1.5 million bond in connection to #Hernandez case.

I wonder how the hell these two sisters and their family are dealing with this whole mess. Hard to "root for" one side, wouldn't it be? Which side is the bias? I imagine they'd both be hoping that Hernandez didn't do it, but it sure doesn't look that way. Lloyd's girlfriend probably doesn't want him to get away with it if he did, but her sister could be financially strapped with that kid that way...instead of being rich. That's among other things, of course, like the child losing her father.

That's just plain crazy.

FWIW, without going into the details, let me simply say that I was involved in a similar though far less serious case (no one died, but it basically ended up being person who could go to jail v. person who suffered and did nothing wrong).

I know that in that case the family tried to protect the person who could go to jail, at the expense of the person who suffered.

Anybody photographed while holding a gun is bound to commit murder?

Well you can definitely tell a thug(or someone that knows nothing about guns) from a responsible gun owner by simply looking at how and where his trigger finger is held.

that picture is pure thug (or person that knows nothing about guns) . You never have your finger on a trigger like that until its the moment to shoot, that's literally 101 on handling guns.

This is the moment when he knew he was fcuked...

It's late and I am getting punch drunk, but two things about this video:

1) why does it appear that someone is throwing something white at the cop in the back? and
2) every time I see it, all I can think of is the Grateful Dead song, "Truckin' " and the line, "If you've got a warrant, I guess you're gonna come in..."

When I was just a baby,
My Mama told me, "Son,
Always be a good boy,
Don't ever play with guns,"
But I shot a man in Reno,
Just to watch him die,
When I hear that whistle blowin',
I hang my head and cry.

I'm not sure they necessarily did the right thing--as a society we presume innocence until guilt is proven but does that hold for a 'business'?--but it seems they've decided to cut ties.

As I've mentioned before: the Patriots clearly felt that the severity of the charges against him, and the unlikelihood of his getting off scot-free, justified cutting bait now.

And proof that this is not a knee-jerk reaction to Hernandez's charges:
* The Pats kept Nick Kaczur for years after his arrest.
* The Pats did not release Edelman after his arrest, and did not even suspend him from practice, let alone games in the interim.
* The Pats did not cut Dennard after he was sentenced to jail time.

In a situation in which they have far more incentive to hang on to the guy than they did in any of those cases, they felt cutting him was the right move.
