He really is. The stupidest person in the history of time IMO. Why kill your friend and leave him a mile from your home out in the open when everyone knows you are together and you have several illegal weapons? Then destroy your security system and smash your phone. As if that will erase the data?

Plus even if he beats the murder charge the weapons charges are mandatory jail time.
