Again, the Edelman situation suggests the Patriots would not suspend Hernandez in such a scenario.
Agreed - and the same can be said with the NFL. Unless he has been charged with a criminal act punishable with jail time, Goddell cannot do anything as well.
As far as the NFL and the NFLPA is concerned, conduct detrimental to the league cannot be based on rumor and cannot be based on the suspicion that he is going to be charged with a crime.
It appears that while the obstruction warrant has been prepared, it has not been served or mailed to Hernandez and until that happens then Hernandez should be and will be allowed to work.
Until a warrant is actually served to him, there is nothing that the Patriots or the NFL can do.
Another thing - the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the MSP can take as long as they want on this. They are much more concerned about the murder of Mr. Lloyd than anything else and that includes any purported obstruction of justice event that may have inhibited their investigation.
