This timeline is interesting - Jayson Williams was arrested 11 days after the killing of his driver in his house. The bad decisions about covering up evidence and agreeing to lie about the shooting started immediately.

The DA, MSP and Attleboro Police would not mess around, as we saw with the Boston Marathon Bombings, in getting the killer off the street before he did harm to someone else or to himself.
Except for the dead police officer, the one dead bomber, and the fact that the bombers were previously on the FBI's radar.........

Cops searching RI strip club..

Strip club searched as homicide probe widens | Boston Herald

I will volunteer my services as a concerned citizen and Pats fan.

All dancers are to return to work immediately! And bring your work clothes.

Of course, law enforcement has info that hasn't been made public. Some public info I might have missed: Fiance and baby live with Ahern? Does the sister live nearby? Have members of Ahern's entourage(s) been identified? I would have thought there would be more noise about other people. But you have to be prepared for things to turn in unexpected directions.

At this point - Saturday morning June 22, five full days after the murder - things are starting to look better for Hernandez. Today's Globe story with his movements to Boston for an overnight and back home last evening is significant.

He's free to come and go, and he's back in his house. The police don't consider him a flight risk.

That means that there is no physical evidence that he is the shooter, his house is not a crime scene, whatever the police wanted from him they are getting through his attorney, and he is cooperating. It also suggests to me that whatever was on the telephone and the video surveillance system was probably recovered. Hernandez has probably agreed not to smash anything else.

Actually, they don't look any different......there's no warrant yet, that's all

Theres still the corpse

Funny how an arrest warrant which was imminent 24 hours ago still hasn't been issued. Now the explanation from the concern trolls in the lynch mob is that the police want to be deliberate in building their case. Thank goodness, that we live in a country where a person is INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY, not a police state where a person is punished based on rumors from unnamed sources that the trolls are advocating.

Yeah he's still innocent despite smashing his home surveillance equipment, breaking his cell phone and having his name on a car rental found not far from the victim, and also being seen with the victim a few hours before his demise.

Even if he didn't pull the trigger, the combination of all of those circumstances are just too much to expect any notion that he's completely innocent.

You may chose to entertain the notion that he's innocent until proven guilty, but it just doesn't look good for him, no matter how you look at it.

I posted about this yesterday ...

Was laughing my butt off when they said the Cadillac Lounge ...

That place is full of lowlife perverts with an adult video store up the street.

It's a place for the gangsta look ...

Hernandez getting that contract was the proverbial lipstick on a pig.

I defer to your detailed knowledge of RI strip clubs

According to the article lots of Pats players frequent the establishment, excepting TFB who would be emasculated once you-know-who found out. Let me put it another way...the balls he'd be throwing AND catching would have his DNA in them

I do not disagree with what you wrote except that things do look better. If he were the suspected murderer, he'd be in custody for obstruction already. The smashed phone and surveillance system give them enough to hold him. The DA, MSP and Attleboro Police would not mess around, as we saw with the Boston Marathon Bombings, in getting the killer off the street before he did harm to someone else or to himself.

My belief is they are looking at someone else and that Hernandez is more helpful to the authorities at home than in a cell.

Yet they are widening their investigation now, not winding things up.

And as for the Boston Marathon Bombing, that was a federal investigation and prosecution.

You know what I'm sick of hearing about? The red f-ing flags before the draft. According to Daniel Jeremiah (who was a scout for the browns at the time) of NFL network they were immature (he was 20), failed drug test (he was a college student), he had friends in gangs (that category pretty much includes all NFL players from a low socioeconomic background) and he was easily influenced (again he was 20 coming out what 20 year old isn't easily influenced).

Sometimes there are no warnings before something terrible happens I wish everyone would stop saying I told you so. If those are the red flags of serious criminals 75% of all Athletes should be under the NSA monitoring program. If Hernandez had something to do with murder that's on him and him alone just like the Belcher tragedy was on him and not the Chiefs "not doing their homework". Sorry had to vent.

Yep. I agree. Spare me their 20-20 hindsight delivered in condescending prose.

Every law enforcement agency under the sun was investigating the Boston Marathon Bombings up until they ID'ed the Tsarnaev brothers. The federales get first crack at the kid in Devens. The state and local jurisdictions can still bring charges if he slips off the hook.

The Lloyd murder now has more law enforcement agencies looking at this with the RI State Police and Providence PD involved.

I hope you never had the dream of being a Boston sports writer, because you just showed that you are highly deficient in the category of "start by blaming the local team" style of writing. It's like all these writers pretend that they were waiting for Ahern to be involved in a murder.

There are a lot of things we don't know. I was disgusted at first about the whole situation. I don't see how anyone who has made it, can get involved in things like this. However, all we know has been given to us in the press. Hernandez himself has not talked. I have not heard anything official from the police.
He may not have destroyed the things you may think that he did. I know how some people in your past life can have control over you even if you move away from them. There are some gangs that if you join, they only way out is if they kill you. There are so many factors that we need to know before thinking about the worse of him. I am now center and waiting for official reports and think it will be wise for most people to be of similar mindset.

I agree that there is nothing we know for certain, and I know no more than anyone else on this board, but it doesn't stop me from joining the discussion on this board, and doesn't stop me from speculating on the extent of what happened. Like you or anyone else, I am dismayed by what happened and can't make sense of it, and feel compelled to decide for myself what happened in order to try to make sense of it all. Naturally I stand to be wrong if it somehow turns out that Hernandez is completely innocent, however unlikely it seems.

However, while I maintain the opinion that Hernandez will not put on the Patriots uniform again, not once have I passed judgement on Hernandez's character, or thrown him under the bus. It's just very unfortunate that this has happened.

I also don't think that it's a failure on BB's part. He has taken many gambles over the years in picking players that come with question marks, and in the 13 years that he's been here, this is the first time that something really bad has happened.

Its all on Hernandez.

The Patroits could not have placed him in a better position to succeed and set himself up for life. All he had to do was work hard and stay out of trouble.

Rae Caruth?

Ray Lewis. Bam Morris and Tamarac Vanover were stealing cars and hakwing them. The whole Bengals team should be in prison. Marvin Harrison was involved in a shooting in Philly.

Thug Turd life is very common in the NFL.

Hernadez was one of 3 people to last see the victim alive. Neighbors heard gunshots from his house.

Thats an excuse so one can defer responsibility for ones actions.
