that's really got to hurt if your a leafs fan. I mean like a suker punch from a 500 pound gorilla. your team was down 3 games to 1 they come all the way back and are up 4 to 1 in game 7 in the 3rd period . then give up the lead with 50 seconds left and lose. that hurts big time. wow what a come back:rocker:

I am stunned ... brings back memories of the Patriots drive with the big pass to Troy Brown in 2001, Carlton Fisk waving the HR ball away from the pole, Bird stealing the ball ... this has to be up there with this period.

Hat tip to Phil Kessel ... we cannot rag on him anymore.

Sadly for them it reminded me of when Harry Sinden would send us in the playoffs with 1 big line and not much else.

I know it's twisted, but I always get a kick out of reading the losing team's fan reactions after an epic loss like that. I guess I know the feeling all too well having been a Boston sports fan for the last 40 years.

I never turned off the TV because I wanted to see if they would completely roll over and die or at least go out fighting. If they had rolled over I think Claude would be gone by week's end. They should have been abusing the Toronto defense all series long like that and not playing so passively and conservatively. Honestly if they lose to the Rangers it may have been better for the franchise long term to lose to the Leafs although now I'd never change something as epic as that.

I just don't hate the Leafs and their fans. Yes they have their share of homers like any franchise but this isn't Montreal or Vancouver with a team full of douchebags and even more in the stands. In a lot of ways I feel bad for them. They haven't won in so long it's like being a pre-2001 Pats fan or pre-2004 Soxs fan or Pre-2011 Bruins fan. That loss is as bad as the Eli pass, really both but especially the first one, the Dent homer, the Boone homer, the up 3-0 to the Flyers to lose for the Bruins..........I mean that's going to sting for a long time.
