Hasn't BB spoken highly of Kelly? I know he speaks highly of almost everyone but I think they asked him about that huge contract Al gave him a few years back everyone though was crazy and sounded like BB liked him. Could be a nice pickup.
Yeah, Belichick on Kelly:
Tommy Kelly is one of the best defensive linemen in the league. He's an outstanding player…Kelly plays everywhere. He's a little bit like Howie Long in that Howie Long was a guy that they would move along on the front. They would take Howie and mismatch him against whoever they thought the other team's worst lineman was. There is a little bit of that with Tommy Kelly., too, find a guy that they want to go after and stick him there because he does have the flexibility to play outside and inside. He can pretty much play across the board. He can do everything. Play the run, rush the passer, he's good in pursuit. He's a very physical player. He's pretty good.
For those who think the Tommy Kelly re-signing was a bad move...

If Kelly gets released, Belichick should be all over him. He's a versatile DT that's great against both the run and pass. Given his age and the team's need for a starting DT, there's no reason some other team should be more interested than the Pats.

I guess Tommy Kelly is getting released tomorrow. I thought he had been released already; needless to say I could see him drawing some interest from us.

I could see BB trying to sign him. He likes ex Raiders and just imagine him with Wilfork on the dline!

In my mind this is one of the biggest weaknesses on the team is no one playing next to Wilfork. Need to get someone to play next to this guy and get more push up the middle. They had to rotate players next to Wilfork. I am not a Love fan at all and don't think he brings much besides a wide body.

Love's a fine rotational player, but what they really need is someone who can create a pass rush in the middle.

The NFL is a passing league and he brings what to the table? Pats also thought that because he was removed as a starter Dedrick took over.

Oh, so defending the run is no longer important? News to me.

Deaderick took over because Love got injured.

Dolphins still not done in free agency - very much in on CB Brent Grimes, who played on franchise tag in '12. could land there soon

I wanted Grimes on pats but i knew it would never happen...is a good Cb and if fully healthy will be great for dolphins

and Osi to falcons

RT @wyche89: Falcons source confirms @JayGlazer report that DE Osi Umenyiora agrees to two year deal with the team.

hopefully we will see some developments on abraham with the osi move

I'm just not sold on Abraham.

The odds are hugely stacked against a 34/35 year old pass rusher. I'd rather go for a young specialist who needs a change of scenery like Anderson.

agreed, I'd actually like a rookie. A guy who can come in and make an impact on passing downs in his first year to go along with the improved secondary would be awesome.

But Im looking for Jones to do that.

I for one, still think Abraham would be the perfect vet pickup for our pass rush, though I think we also need someone young and explosive in the interior of the D line to do that.

the guy had 10 sacks last year..unless he went from 10 sacks a year to 0..he could be a big help

Well Umenyiora got 2 years 8.5 million, 3.5million of that being incentives. So looks like 5 million guaranteed over 2 years.

Bet that's what BB offered Abraham. 2 years 5-6 million.

I also don't see Abraham getting more than that now with Umenyiora being signed for 2.5 a year and Dumervil getting 5.2 a year.

Vaughn Martin signs with Dolphins.

Brent Grimes signs with Miami. 1yr deal for $5.5 million
