Vereen had a big playoff game and started to come on later in the year..but he still played 2nd fiddle to woodhead
behind welker he was a solid security blanket for Brady on several key 3rd down conversions...I dont think he wouldve cost that much so him leaving is surprising to me.
seems like Bill is totally intent on rebuilding the whole offense/reciever corps on the fly this year...some growing pains should be expected IMO
i'm assuming they'll use him like they once did sproles
chargers have A LOT of holes though, not sure if they'll be a playoff contender for a long time
Field Yates ?@FieldYates
Danny Woodhead has a new home: he's agreed to a two-year deal with the Chargers, reports @MikeReiss.
i wish Welker and woodhead the best of luck but none of them where game changers in the playoffs, the pats are looking to win SB's the main part of the passing game is still there Brady and the TE's the pats will still be a top passing game and im hopeing they will come up big in the playoffs
Well, there go the only two offensive players with the same fire and determination as Brady. There were times last year where Woodhead seemed like the only one on the field that gave a *****. I think the offense lost alot of heart and determination with Woodhead and Welker leaving.
I am very bummed out. I think he's better than Vereen will ever be.
I'm pretty f-ing pissed about letting Woodhead walk, but in all honesty, the writing has been on the wall since Vereen was drafted. I can understand drafting to replace BJGE, but what was the point of doing that for Woodhead? The Pats could have used that pick on D-Backs.
I don't get how GMs can keep underestimating this guy, all he does is produce, yet they continue to ditch him for younger, more "athletic" options. Vereen BETTER put up some numbers.
Vareen was our fastest WR last year when he went wide ...
he's extremely valuable and not yet fully utilized as he will be this year.
He beat a LB on that sideline route he ran, not a CB.
If you want to be technical Slater and Edelman are the fastest WRs on the roster.
