St.Louis Rams fans response to losing Amendola:

"Yep. He joined the evil empire. Danny Amendola fan no more."

"Farewell Danny. You have excited me as a Rams fan, you have exceeded my expectations as a player, you were a great teammate. I want to wish you well, but the Patriots? I will never forgive you for that."

"I personally think he's worth every penny. Just not a deal the Rams could justify doing."

"
"That's a ton of dough for a guy that's missed a lot of games in his career due to injury. When he plays; he's worth it. But, that's the problem"

"Sounds feasible to me. Back in early Feb when we played GM, I thought Danny would be worth 6 mil per. I still think he is based on his production and value. Obviously the Patriots did too. I'd be surprised to think that we(Rams) didn't think he was worth that. The Cheats probably tampered with him, and he already made up his mind to go there."

"This one freaking hurts"

"Danny probably was tampered with by them last season when they "had interest" in trading for him. And i bet he stays healthy and gets 80-90 catches and 1000+ yds. I think we used him here too much, wr, kr, and pr... Making him more likely to get biitten by thAt pesky injury bug. There he will just be a wr... Ill be pickijng him up early in my fantasy draft, lmao!"

"TO THE FRE%@$#^%!$@#%^!$*@#ING PATRIOTS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!- BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"

"Damnit I was hoping he'd go to Philly. freakin New England and that damn hoodie. Wouldn't be a problem...their players aren't a problem. It's that freakin hoodie."

"Sad to see him go, but we will survive. (cue Gloria Gaynor) The only think that stinks is that he is now playing for belacheat. Good bye Danny"

Rams ON DEMAND - St Louis Rams Message Board • View topic - Amendola to Patriots

Anyone that would be happy to lose Welker all because they signed a guy like Amendola has got to be one of the dumbest homers around here.

Not only was losing Welker a really bad loss, but the Pats let him go to the freaking Broncos who will now have the best passing offense in the league with the two wideouts they have along with Welker in the middle.

I've hated BB as a GM for years, and this should be the nail in the coffin for him as a GM. He hasn't been able to fix that defense after all these years, he has yet to get a real wideout for Brady, and now when they finally have money to spend they don't do a thing to get Wallace or Jennings which is what the team actually needed to pair alongside of Welker, so they decided to pay all their money to an injury prone player that isn't nearly as good as Welker.

People who are acting like they're happy about this are really bad liars.

I suggest you stop your ranting and do some better homework. The Pats had 2 real wideouts in Welker and Moss from 2007-2009.

The Pats didn't spend all their money on Amendola. They spent a few million. The AAV is only 6.2Million. The Pats had nearly $25 million in free salary cap space.

Calling Amendola injury prone because he had his elbow dislocated, his clavicle dislocated and he had a sprained Achilles is pretty stupid. It shows that you know nothing of how the injuries occur and that they fall into the catastrophic injury category. Those are injuries that all the working out in the world can't protect you from.

shades of 2006 all over again... really 2 million dollars ?????? over 2 million dollars??? and we sign danny amedola????? there better be more moves coming... this is a travesty... i always say in bill we trust... but brady must feel like a fool right now... i know the pats wanted welker gone.. but really this was sad...

Was wondering how long it would take for the biggest whiner on the board to show up and start..

You blast Belichick the GM and one of the reasons you give is because he didn't spend $13 million a year to out bid the Dolphins (might have had to be more considering there is no income tax in FL) for an one trick pony in Wallace. I can see him and McDaniels talking about palys now:

McDaniels: Ok on this play, you run a quick out.
Wallace: Ok, so you mean I run down 20 yards straight down the field while Brady runs around in the backfield until I get open.
MCD: No you run up field 5 yards and then cut to the sideline quickly.
Wallace: Yeah, but in Pittsburgh I ran down the field until I got open and Ben hucked the ball that way.
McD: But that isn't the way we do it here.
Wallace: But that is the only route I run. But I can give you a lot of versatility with it. I can run along the right sideline, left sideline, or straight up the middle. I've got quite a route tree.

Go to Help Desk and read my post. This is clearly another account. How can i post on my banned one?. You just called a mod a freakin name and you dont even get knocked out of the thread yet anyone else would be banned or kicked off the thread.

This is a second account? That's a bannable offense..

According to @PFF: Welker's drop rate in the slot: 12.9 %. Amendola's drop rate in the slot: 1.9 %.

Icy understood.....

I can take it as well as dish it ... no problem ... we're fans of the same team.

I don't know what you did to piss Shmessy off, and I don't care. Smessy and I have gone back and forth on numerous occasions (and I figure it's likely that we'll do it again in the future), and he hasn't banned me, so, without evidence to the contrary, I can only assume you did something really stupid.

come on now ... the thread says ... Amendola signed - 5 years

I am a defender of signing Amadola, but a few things:

PFF sucks
  • Welker plays the slot a heck of a lot more than Amadola. Welker has been healthy and plays the slot exclusively. Amadola can play the slot and outside and has missed a lot of games.
  • To the last point, Welker has had a whole heck of a lot more targets as a slot than Amadola.

All that said, Welker's drops last year especially in key situations is a concern going forward. If last year wasn't a fluke and just a symptom of his aging process, it may be a fairly significant concern going forward in his career.

Whole lot of stupid in this thread.

I'm really sad Welker is gone but they obviously have a plan. It's asinine to suggest that the Patriots stumble their way into divisional and conference championships so often during Belichick's tenure by mistake.

Bill Belichick isn't the Mr. Magoo of GMs, stumbling blindly into a building and knocking over an ink fountain that accidentally signs a player to the team.

They haven't always been perfect but what I don't understand is the fevered rush to be angry in advance. I've been frustrated by their moves before and they were right. I've been frustrated by their moves before and they were proven wrong. But until we see how Amendola does in our offense and what he does over a course of a season we just won't know if this is the right call.

So despite Welker being my favorite player since he got here I'm gonna hope that Amendola does really well and it was the right move.

Making judgments now, before a single meaningful snap has been taken by the team with Amendola in a Pats jersey is pretty much the definition of a knee jerk reaction.

Why don't we all simply accept that there is nothing we can do to change the personnel decisions the NE Patriots make, and that even if there were, we are hardly qualified to make them ourselves?

If we can't trust BB, there is frankly nobody coaching in the NFL today that we can trust.

For my part, I trust BB, just as I did when we got rid of Moss.

Is there a particular reason that you continue to call Amendola Amadola? I'm wondering if there's a joke or punch line I need to get up to speed with.

I don't think the average fan appreciates how true this scenario is and how, when a receiver doesn't run his route correctly disrupts the entire flow of an offense and puts the QB in harms way.

See Chad Jackson, 2011.

They say Amendola's drop rate last year was 3.1%. Welker's was 11%. Amendola didn't play a whole season and what constitutes a drop is obviously part of the equation but Welker did have his fair share of drops. I think he's gonna tear it up in Denver so I don't look at this as something to tear down Welker, I look at it as something we can be hopeful about for Danny.

Plain and simple we lost a good player but gained a good player. Don't crucify him until he plays for us.

Considering both skill levels and age, I'd rather have Amendola for 5 years than Welker for 2.

I'm going to go on a limb and and postulate you got banned for being a terrible poster.

What is your problem?

I've been following this forum for years myself. Just because we don't all post obsessively, and have accounts since 2006, doesn't mean we haven't been lurking the forum.

Honestly, get over yourselves and your pathetic "internet stats". :bricks:
