I've heard contract talks are done between Pats and Welker for the day. Welker moves onto free agency. Pats onto Plan B?

Pats have something lined up if this is true. The pats are doing something and I want to hear what it is. I expect some big news from them in a day or two with some very helpful signings.

He must be asking for some big bucks. This is going to get interesting.

Its surprising how we've heard nothing about our free agents being signed elsewhere. Even the lower tier players. I wonder what chung is thinking.

This is why Rapoport SUCKS. His "sources" are only ONE person. And she is Karen Guregian of the Herald. She tweeted the following at 4:55 EDT.

Notice the slight difference? That Kuregian says it's "done for the day" where as Rapoport says they are done. He is such a fraud.

I don't think that Welker is coming back here. Time to move on.

It seems pretty obvious judging by their negotiations over the past year or so that they aren't budging. If they are moving on to plan B then they'll need to explore some of the bigger named receivers and/or some of the other guys like Edelman, Amendola, etc as replacements. So far there aren't any signs that point to either plan.

**** Indianapolis. Thomas was almost as good as Mankins last year...

Obviously NOT, If Thomas was that exceptional....Bill Belichick would have worked hard to keep him. I saw Thomas get blown up alot......I even recall throwing a shoe at the TV when he allowed a damned sack!!! Sayonara Thomas!!!!

Canty to the Ravens

Vikings have offered Jennings a contract

Chris Canty signs with the Ravens..

Today feels like Christmas with a major hangover waiting for the Patriots to make some signings.

If you think that based on that fraud, Rapoport, then you should just up and quit following the Pats and start following whatever team Rapoport loves..

If BB replaces Welker with Amendola/Edelman and does nothing else to the WR position in FA I expect picket fences at Gillette.

They're doing nothing big, probably trying to sign Grimes and Nnamdi and other bargain bin players.

Thomas was much better than you give him credit for. Was he as good as Mankins? No. People claiming otherwise are just ignorant.

Everyone has a bad game now and then. Thomas' bad game came at RG. He was very good otherwise. He signed a lucrative contract for him. You should be happy for him and move on.

Not saying you're opinion is right/wrong, but if you remember throwing a shoe due to Thomas giving up a sack it must have been the one time in 7 games where that took place.

He gave up 1 sack in 7 games.

He wanted to be paid like a starter and BB felt differently. Not much to discuss, but I think that Thomas played very effectively as a backup and would've liked to see him stay as a backup. He earned the right to compete as a starter however.

Rap tweeted jennings could very well stay in GB
